Since Dallas revamped its drafting philosophies starting in 2010 one thing as been constant. They have drafted the top prospect at that posistion.

2010 Dez Bryant
2011 Tyron Smith
2012 Morris Claiborne
2013 Travis Fredrick
2014 Zack Martin

So if going with that philosophy and Dallas follows that same way of drafting there would be 2 outcomes where Dallas is drafting right now.

Draft Eric Kendricks LB UCLA
Trade Down.

How would you feel about that?

I think they might have graded Marcus peters and DGB pretty high,we will see in a week if they pull the trigger on these guys.

Peters wouldnt be the top CB, most likely 2. The point of the post was to look at who would be available and the only guy i see worthy of 27 who would be the top rated prospect at their posistion would be kendricks. Waynes is the top rated CB in the draft.

I am fine with either scenario, but if I were pressed I would really want to trade down to a high second round pick. Drafting a combo of OO and Carl Davis to pair with Crawford and Lawrence would set the D-line up for years, plus still give you two potential third round picks to address running back and corner in a draft that is deep at both positions.

Talked about this before and I think I came to the same conclusion.

Of course we all would want a trade back because Kendricks + an additional top 75 talent > just Kendricks but, i would have no problem with Kendricks at 27. Improves the defense and most importantly improves our front 7.

Kendricks or Peters at 27 and I am happy. Unless it's a move into the very early 2nd, I don't like the value. After about 45 picks, the talent take a serious nose dive.

I would hate Kendricks. We are set at LB, at least for this year. And who cares about the best at position if there are BPA at your bigger needs of CB, RB, and DL?

They picked the top rated positional player ACCORDING TO THEIR BOARD. Who's to say Peters wouldn't be their top rated CB? The flags may drop him, but our scouts still may have a higher grade on Peters playing football than any other CB. We have no idea what McClays board looks like and with the character signings, I could very well see Peters being the #1 CB on our board.
