the Dallas TEs, despite all the negative have quetly put together a good season. they are not dominant by an stretch of imagination, none of them is a Zach ertz... but my hope was that they would be decent enough to have to be accounted for. yesterday they had 10 catches for 93 yards, Jarwin had 7 for 56...the one flop was Gathers for -1 yards....clearly a very limited player...

over all the TEs have had 51 for 500 yards.... not earth shattering. but decent. most of which has come later in the year as in the beginning of the year they were almost non existent.

swaim was coming on as a reliable TE, until his injury and Jarwin is gaining confidence and has some athleticism to him.....

not saying we shouldn't pursue a TE in the offseason, but not bad either...

With the playmakers we have at wideout, there are not enough balls to go around. I'm pleased with their reliability in the passing game.

this is a good group.
they have played well all year.
doesnt mean Im not taking Irv Smith or Kaden Smith in Rd2 or 3 if they are still there...but this is a good group.

They've been getting more involved and making the most of their chances.

I still upgrade at slot receiver to Golden Tate and then get a TE1 cheap with a second round pick. Defense is close, let's get the offense to that level.

No reason to hate on Rico's 1 failed catch. Did you see how many Beagles were around him when he caught it? Both announcers remarked that it easily could have been a larger loss if not for his effort. I just don't think they trust him running routes cause he has shown he can block.

Remember these are inexperienced TEs learning every week, so maybe all the coaching, studying n grinding is paying off.

Looks like Dak trust these guys now and Shultz n Jarwin have some athleticism this offense should use.

Many fans will fail to recognize this fact. I taught it was great, though a one yard loss, but Dak and rico on that prevented a much larger loss.
It was actually a good play.
But I bet some will say better off being incomplete because it lost a yard.
to me it showed good effort from both.

These are guys that should be battling for depth really. I think they have potential, but they need to develop and go from there.

We like our TEs and I doubt we'd get 2 this offseason, but it's looking like we'll probably be looking at TE in the 2nd. I'd probably bring a guy in on a short deal too, if we can find one. That may end up being Swaim, which I'd be pretty meh about.

2nd rounder, vet, Jarwin, Schultz is how I'd go about it. Just let them all compete.

It gives the DC's from opponents something to look at. Then if they plan to cover them the next game, that could open things up for more go our WR's like Beasley.

I said during the game, or maybe it was after. Ddi Linehan put this in the game plan. Figuring the Eagles would not pay attention to our TE's in the passing game. Since they seem to have been a nonreactor in a huge way.
If so, props to Scott, and / or props to Dak for seeing they were open.

I’m now convinced we have some very solid #2 TE’s...but we still need to find an upgrade to a good #1. A receiving threat with some speed in the middle of the field would do wonders

thats nice to know LOL BUT the other teams have multiple TEs as well, skewed if you dont use their combined TE production, pretty sure Dallas Goedert is doing decently, but now if you want to keep numbers post Cooper trade like we are Daks you will see an uptick in production for sure..i say draft the Best TE left in this draft if one is available at 2nd when we draft , if not no need to reach go get a VET and get a safety at 2..No reaching like afew I remember that were complete busts..we are set enough to not reach in the draft..im sure both Schultz and Jarwin along with Swaim will only get better with playing time..

It's not a great group, but you work with what you have in the cupboard.

I just did the individuals to show the difference what we have by playing TE by committee vs the old approach of must catches/yards going to one TE Like Witten.

I don't think anyone honestly thought we would have a break out TE producer this year with the exception of those thinking Rico was a Superstar the team was purposely trying to keep down lol.

As far as the draft...will just wait and see who the best player is at the time we pick. This seasons draft is said to be good for DTs. Now one could say we need other spots but if we happen to get a great DT that falls to us vs a so so FS or TE...give me that DT.

I no longer want Ha Ha Clinton-Dix but I could be into Landon Collins for the right price, especially since it would weaken the Giants.

They do appear to be a liability. That's most important, but they have played alright.

This is well said, if there's a really good vertical threat there then sure draft him if not then I wouldn't be too too worried about it. It was an issue early on but Swaim was consistent when healthy and Jarwin/Schultz have picked up their game as the season has progressed.

Kittle had 7 catches for 210 yards yesterday in one half iirc. Unreal for a TE.
