We traded Morton in 1974.

It had more to do with getting a great pick in return and Staubach being the guy than anything else.

You have no idea what you are talking about. It was 1977, Roger wasn't ready, and it was because of a stripper/go-go dancer.

BTW, I have a pretty nice bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you, please contact me via PM for a special deal.

:laugh2:

On the other hand, Terry Bradshaw of the the 1977 Stealers traded a stripper for steroids.

WTH are you talking about? We traded Morton in 74. And Roger wasn't ready? He was the QB when we won the Super Bowl in 72. Plus we won the Super Bowl in 77 over the Broncos. Who by the way was QB'd by Morton?

Or did I read your post wrong?

JPM was joking. You must have missed his "Brooklyn Bridge" joke near the bottom of his post.

Stick to the mud junior, you have ZERO clue about Cowboys history.

Another one that just signed up to *****.

Yeah, you're basically a troll.

I don't know if I'd call him a troll. Houston is going to be really tough at home. We could really be 0-3 next week.

There are a LOT of PO'd Cowboys fans out there looking for a place to vent.

This place is called Cowboyszone. so "fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy ride":(

Oh yeah, there are plenty of posters with legitimate gripes, but this is a guy whose 24 posts are almost all recent and almost all like this one. So I'm not going on just what he said here.

Your recollection of Cowboys History is a little off. Craig Morton was a playboy, no denying that, but he was here for 9 years and there is no way they put up with it for 9 years and one day simply got fed up with it. Craig signed a contract to play in the WFL and intended to leave anyway. Tex Schramm sought and got a Judicial Order that blocked the players under contract from leaving. In 1974, not 1977, Morton was traded to the Giants for a 1st round pick which the Cowboys used to select Randy White. That was the best thing Craig Morton ever did for this franchise.

Would you like for some fat men to be dancing up there instead?

I was one of the ones saying that very thing. I said yesterday that watching him get pile driven into the ground 9 times on sacks was heart warming. Morton was a good QB and good guy. Roger really respects him. But I was glad he was gone.
