six flags and a waterpark are in same area as new stadium, as is the Rangers
baseball stadium.
due south of the stadium on I-20 is a mall called parks mall that has an ice skating rink.
ft worth has a very nice zoo, also some musuems.
thats about all i know for the kiddos.

If you want to see something crazy go to the FW stock yards and see them riding big arse brama bulls like horses down the middle of the street.

I got somone coming too and had similar issues in past when people visit Dallas. There is an Aquarium too, JFK museum but I am not going to suggest that for kids.

There is FW zoo and Dallas Zoo, so two different zoos for kids. There are couple of Safaris either side of Dallas. One in Texas called Fossil Rim and other I forget in Oklahoma, both about 100 Miles of DFW area. But the weather being hot, I wouldn't recommend safari.

And like someone else posted, both Six Flags and a Water park are right by New stadium.

hotel waterpark combined, not too far from airport, arlington, big mall, bass pro shop and a great Cowboys Pro Shop at Grapevine Mills Mall.

I wonder if a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old would get that much out of Texas Stadium. Big, cold, creepy place. :)

If you want them to be in awe, I'd call up Farmers Branch-Little Carrollton or Dallas parks and recreation and ax for a good fishing hole.

If they're into dinosaurs, make a trip down to Glen Rose. Nice drive and the dinosaur park is pretty cool for the little ones with lots of dinosaur tracks, big dinosaur statues and things like that. Take your suits cause the kids can play in a river that runs through the park too.

fort worth has the better zoo and the better museums(as was mentioned)

the stock yards are there too, could be fun for the kiddos

grapevine mills can kill a day if you don't mind spending a few bux on random crap you don't need. Decent resturants and they have an arcade with some cool games for the little ones.

the bass pro store is neat too, with a big indoor pond in the middle of it.

If you hop on 30 east(from arlington)you can make it to downtown dallas(meh) but about half way there is texas stadium, so you can see it before it goes bye bye.

the resturants are better in dallas, fair park is okay to walk around if you get bored, the aquarium and some of the museums down there are open all the time. You could also see the cotton bowl stadium.

all I can think of right now...

Do they still have tours of Texas Stadium now?

No. Texas Stadium is gutted.

They have tours of the new Cowboys stadium, though.

Nearby Glen Rose is that animal safari park you drive through. We enjoyed that also.

My wife would like to know some great shopping places in the Dallas area. Are there any outlet malls in the area?

There are all sorts of shops in the area by the stadium. I think if you drive down Division past 360, I think there are some shops you can visit.

These are some Malls
Grapevine Mills - Grapevine

Parks Mall - Arlington

Galleria - Dallas

Northeast Mall - Hurst

All are in relatively good safe areas..

Northeast Mall WG posted is old and small, the rest are good
Northeast mall isn't bad, tho. I was thinking more of the available shopping in the area surrounding the malls than I was the actual mall itself.

I always say I'm going to the mall, even tho I'm going to the stores by the mall. Plus it still depends on where they are in the area.
