Dallas vs. Detroit: The battle of desperation

The Lions have been one of the most futile and unfortunate teams in the NFL for decades, and haven't won a playoff game since the presidency of George H.W. Bush - over 22 years ago. Detroit is a bleak city, and success-starved Motown desperately could use the psychological boost of a deep Lions playoff run.

The Cowboys have won only one playoff game in 17 seasons and are one of the most scrutinized, ridiculed, followed, hyped, and supported franchises in all of America. Dallas is a sports-crazed town. Tony Romo, who is 34 years old and nearing the very end of his career, has just one playoff victory to his name when even quarterbacks like Eli Manning, Mark Sanchez and Joe Flacco have 8, 4 and 9 playoff wins, respectively. Romo is, realistically, down to perhaps his last one or two chances at ever winning a Super Bowl.

One of these two teams will get some measure of the playoff success it so desperately needs, while the other will go home to even bitterer disappointment.

We simply cannot lose this game.

Lions present some matchup problems.

Its coming down to QB play. Romo is better than Stafford but I could see Stafford having a hot hand

I don't care about the Lions futility. It's time for the Cowboys to get back where they belong. I hope our fans make AT&T feel like a hell hole to Detroit. They're used to a dome atmosphere, but if our fans make noise when Detroit is on offense, it could make a difference. That and Dallas is the better team. In the past, we have moved the ball and scored with ease against the Lions, thus the need for them to come back. I hope those heart-wrenching memories are fresh in the Cowboys minds. Revenge. Finish The Fight.
