Collins, McGovern, Ekiyor, Farinok, Alarcon, or Hyatt. They can battle it out.

If Steele at RT and Collins is already on the left side, maybe McGovern is the guy who comes in when Smith gets hurt -- and Collins moves outside. Maybe McGovern is much better on the right side, and Martin moves to the left. Maybe Farinok is a better center and moves Biadsz to LG.

Maybe they resign CWilliams to a middling contract and he stays. I just expect him to get a bigger contract offer than Dallas is willing to pay.

Lots of options for the OL for next year.
I want 2022 to be a winning season and those names don’t inspire at this time

Teams dont rush 1T's often anymore, they play two 3T's on passing downs. And thats if they dont kick a DE inside.

Wilfork was relevant a decade ago. There are a few big guys that play every down. Vea is a planet player, who is a 340 lb player that has the ability to play a 1T or a 3T spot. Payne is probably the next best 3 down big DT and he plays on a bad defense surrounded by talent. The Jordan Davis type isnt what it was. Definitely not a key part to a legitimately good defense

This is where my head's at as well. Vea is a monster, but your other big DTs, like Payne, Dexter Lawrence and Derrick Brown all fall in the "kind of OK" zone. They're legit NFL starters, but those 3 all went top 20, and in a redraft today I can guarantee that they don't go top 20.

I watched some Jordan Davis tape. He reminds me a lot of Derrick Brown, in that he is ungodly strong and has a quick first step. But that combo hasn't played well for Brown in the NFL, at least not yet.

Also of major concern is his 3 TFLs on the season. TFLs are one of the most predictive stats for NFL success with D Linemen, and Davis's are really, really low. I see him bulldozing hapless centers into the backfield all the time, so I'm really confused as to why he doesn't have more..

PFN Draft:
25. Jordan Davis DL Georgia
59. Brandon Smith LB Penn State
90. Trey McBride TE Colorado State
127. John Metchie III WR Alabama
142. Emil Ekiyor OG Alabama
169. Michael Clemons DE/OLB Texas A&M
205. Siaki Ika DT Baylor

Resign: R Gregory, J Kearse, C Watkins, Turner, Restricted Hyatt and Bernard and the deep snapper.
Let the rest go to include Vander Esch, Gallup, Schultz, C Williams, etc.

One big FA signing: Von Miller

On D:
Draft Capital spent on Jordan Davis and huge S Ika. Davis, Ika, Bohanna fight for 1T spots.
3T has Hill, Gallimore, and Osa battling it out.
Edge has Von Miller, Lawrence (who will move inside some), Gregory, Basham, Golston, and Clemons who might be able to play a Parsons type role as well. Clemons does get after the QB.
CWatkins is the guy who could play anywhere up and down the line.

Brandon Smith plays with J Cox and Parsons. Bernard back one more year for ST and to prove he belongs. You also have Neal signed for another year or resign him. (conflicting information)
Kearse, Wilson, and (I would move Neal back to play safety some as well.) Kazee and Hooker didn't do much for me this year.
Diggs, KJoseph, Brown, Lewis all signed for another year. NWright and Mukuamu are still signed and will be part of the DB's.

I think these players would allow Dallas to play any defense they wanted and still get pressure and stop the run as needed. Nickel, Dime, 3-4, 4-3, wide 9, 70 -- playmakers at each level, and definite ability to confuse as to who is coming from where while being able to anchor against the run. Miller, Lawrence, Davis/Ika, Watkins, Gregory with Parsons and Smith would leave OC's wondering who the MLB is, who is rushing vs dropping, having to get the ball out quick and pocket collapsing soon. Do Miller or Gregory have the flats or a back, or just coming? Is Lawrence and Watkins coming or dropping in the short zone to stop the quick slant? Which, if either or neither of the LB's is coming or covering zones? This would be a wonderful time to be a DC for Dallas.

Trey McBride is 260, catches well, but more importantly blocks well. He eventually replaces Jarwin altogether, but works with him till Jarwin contract runs out.
We wanted a speed guy, Metchie definitely has that, if he comes off the ACL tear, he is a steal here. WR become CeeDee and Coop starting with Metchie the #3. Simi the #4. Vasher the Red Zone specialist, and Turner the guy to activate when injuries happen. N Brown and C Wilson gone, need to churn not be content.
Ekiyor is another Alabama lineman - who very well could be starting over McGovern very shortly. Smith, McGovern, Biadaz, Martin, Collins, with Steele, Ball, Farinok and Ekiyor seems like all you could ask for. Hyatt is on his last chance. Prove you have the strength and can play or more churning next year.

QB, you have too much invested in Dak to do anything but try to upgrade your backups.
Zeke stays due to contract and Pollard is under contract another year, so no one else is really going to
get any burn here either way, so it will be another year on this one.

I think the talent is here to win the Superbowl. Not sure about coaching, determination, and discipline, but the talent would be there, IMO.

What are your thoughts?
McBride is projected as a 1st round pick.

They won't sign Von Miller AND re-sign Gregory.

I think the last sub 6' WR drafted by the Cowboys was Dwayne Harris in 2011.

The Packers drafted 19 WRs while McCarthy was there and only 1 was under 6'.

Jordan Davis
If the Cowboys draft a DT in the 1st, it will be one that they project as a top pass rushing DT.
- Jordan Davis has monster size and excellent athleticism for his size, but is not considered a pass rushing threat.

The league is a copy cat league --- as long as you can get the talent. On offense it was whether big linemen or athletic zone blockers -- all of them work if you have the best talent and coaching.

Defenses will change as well.

Yes, NFL teams just don't value run stuffers like they did a decade or two ago.
- Yes, they like DTs that can shut down the run but team tend to only draft them early if they also project as elite disruptors on passing downs.
- Strong run stuffer only type DTs now go in the mid rounds and/or don't get big contracts in free agency.

Danny Shelton: 1-year, 1M contract
Malcom Brown: 3-years, 15M

Aaron Donald: 22.5M per year

One plus for a Davis could also be Red Zone toughness/short yardage.
