Dalton Schultz 2020-21 Highlights

Schultz was a pleasant surprise, he really stepped up and made the most of his opportunities. I think we're set at the tight end position with Schultz, Jarwin and Bell. Sharing the field with Cooper, Gallup and Lamb they will certainly be no shortage of open targets that the defense will be forced to cover. Looking forward to seeing what a healthy 2021 offensives unit is capable of doing.

If Pitts is drafted at #10, I may drink until I puke.

Because Schultz stepped up, I'm not sure we'll re-sign Bell. We signed Bell when we didn't know if we had a No. 2 tight end. With Schultz and Jarwin, we have a 1 and 2. I think it's more likely we'll rely on McKeon or a rookie to be the third tight end.

Him and Jarwin should be putting this Kyle Pitts talk to bed. I’d be sick if we invested in 3 starting TE’s.

I like Schultz. He reminds me of Jay Novacek in his frame and how he runs his routes. But what do you mean 3 starting TEs? We have no idea if Blake Jarwin is any good. Schultz proved this year that he’s serviceable, but sorry, he’s not in Kyle Pitts’ universe let alone ball park.

If Kyle Pitts is there at 10, you absolutely take him and the Cowboys will. Pitts is a wide receiver in a tight end’s body. Athletes that are 6’6 should not be able to run like he does, or especially catch balls that he can catch. He can run block too.

Anyone who would be upset with the selection of Pitts obviously never saw the kid play. He’s going to be something really special - a generational talent. You pair him up with Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, Zeke.. this offense would be absolutely nuts.

He’s a “contested catch machine”. Can Shultz do this? Can Jarwin?

Most contested catches by TEs since 2014:

1. Kyle Pitts, Florida - 25
2. Colby Parkinson, Stanford - 23
3. Charlie Kolar, Iowa State - 22

Bell Blocks,, we have this legacy here in Big D with blocking TEs and WRs, they somehow have a place on this roster.

Can Pitts play run defense? Because we were scoring 37 points a game last year and still went 1-3.

Just what we need another WR.

Before Dak went down we were scoring 37 points a game. How nutz do you want to go?

BY the way............if its offense you are evaluating, Oline is the need.

Schultz is a good blocker. So when we have two tight ends on the field, we'll have Jarwin the receiver and Schultz the blocker/receiver. We brought in Bell because Schultz had shown nothing so we needed a blocker to pair with Jarwin. Now, we have a blocker/receiver to pair with Jarwin, with Schultz probably being the starter since he can do both.

I think we have too many other areas we need to address to spend $1.5 million on a blocking tight end.
