Well at least he's been exposed and they can hopefully not be stupid and let him walk next year

Tonight proved, once again, that Dalton Schultz is a waste of money, and a waste of a roster spot. Hendershot and Ferguson are both better than Schultz and are making pennies in comparison.

Knowing Jerry, they will throw Schultz right back out there when he’s able to play. But if they were smart, they would let the young kids keep showing what they are capable of doing.
Did he even play? He’s been hurt all year buddy.

Schultz will be gone next season, that's why they didn't give him that contract.

Schultz was a open all the time when we had Coop, Gallup and Dee. He was a safety outlet.

His contract value is diminishing really bad. It was crazy how great he was in 2021 and how much of a drop off there has been.

The Cowboys saw it coming, though, which is why they tagged him, didn't pay him, and drafted two rookies.

I'm a fan of Hendershot and Ferguson. They are a great duo, and can be a headache when they're in the game together. I know they are rookies. But in due time, I like that pair on my team. They just need to get up to speed, and it appears they are both making strides.

Cowboys should scheme around their TEs more when Dak comes back.

Dallas QBs love to utilize their TE and the offensive scheme utilizes them well.

Honestly, I think you could put 60 different guys in that spot and they would all perform well. So i agree- hopefully we do not pay Schultz and let him walk.

Good grief.....let me get this right.......if you're making money, you got to go.......and if you get hurt, you got to go. Dalton Shultz is hurt and now he is getting the Blake Jarwin treatment. This board says a lot.

You can't stay on the club if you can't get out of the tub. PS. He is one dimensional and always has been. Smallish receiving tight end without elite speed or catch radius and can't block a lick. He is smart and understands the game and has good hands and runs good routes. That makes him a middle of the road tight end, nothing more nothing less.

When it comes to getting rid of high-priced players, we're always a year, or two, or three too late, instead of too early.

In addition to cap cost, his poor showing this year will reduce the Comp Pick we get for him. Last offseason was Peak Schulz. We bought high and will sell low.

He has not always been one dimensional. He was drafted as more of a blocking tight end.

This is his scouting report “Schultz is the best blocking tight end in the 2018 class. Coming out of Stanford, he understands pro-style offenses, blocking schemes and route trees. While he was limited in his pass-catching production, he has the traits to post better numbers in the pros than he did in college.”

Another “STRENGTHS: Big-boned with a moldable frame...mean-spirited blocker...looks to engage defenders and run his feet to create movement...uses body angles to seal outside run lanes...square blocking base to hold up in pass protection...smooth release and quickly finds his top route speed...reliable hands to secure catches in a crowd...competes with a finishing mentality as a pass-catcher and blocker...experienced in a pro-style scheme and blocking inline won't be a new concept...comes from a program known for producing NFL-quality tight ends.

Somewhere after season one, he realized blocking TEs like Blake Bell and Jeremy Sprinkle get paid 1 year, 1 million dollar deals. Receiving TEs get paid

It's possible to both catch and block. There was talk for a couple of years of cutting Schulz. Risky business to blow off the one clear talent in your draft profile if you want to stick around. Worked out for him, but it didn't have to.
