Given the injury history of Sean Lee and Jaylon Smith, depending on if we draft a LB early, Damian Wilson could play a big role on D this year.
He has displayed good athletic ability but has been inconsistent on the field.
Hopefully he will be able to put it together and become a solid contributor. We are pretty thin at LB depth currently and having him step up would help a lot.

Gawd...he had better play a big role and play well. Like death and taxes,SEAN LEE WILL PULL A HAMMY...so we will need all hands on deck.

I think Wilson as been playing better. Still has a few moments here and there of missing a tackle or taking the wrong angle. But seems to be improving. I have no issues with him to continue to develop. If not starting if a stud LB is taken, then he will provide some valuable depth.

Actually if we draft a starting MLB, such as Vender Esch, the Lee and Wilson start. Jaylon can be a situational player and back up, get in a few series. Draft another LB for depth as well. And with signing Thompson for St's and LB depth. I would feel very good about our LB group.

But still draft even another LB and develop one of them to eventually replace Lee.

I'm sure he will be suspended sometime this season after pulling out an assault rifle on someone then bumping them with his car. Dont count on wilson.

I believe all of that was reduced to a misdemeanor. Doesn't mean Goodell won't screw him over, but seems they would have done something by now. But usually they wait until the summer meetings during TC to hand out crap like that.

If Wilson plays a significant role other than the (very roughly) 40% of snaps we are in our base D the defense will be an utter disaster. Not because of Wilson specifically, but because the front office failed to get the required talent to succeed.

That's my thought. Can't count on the guy. At best,he's a decent role player and special teamer. Flashes at times..but never been consistent.

lol..man,don't say that!! I pray to GOD..they do address this. Joe Thomas had better not be there solution! lol..

They need to draft 2 linebackers.

LVE can play the Will and the Middle IMO. I hope he's our pick.

Just think of the presence a guy like Rolando McClain had on our team while he was here. That was a real Middle Linebacker. I think LVE can bring back that type of presence. He won't be as physical as McClain early on but he will make our pass defense so much better I think.

We honestly lack sturdy starters that are proven..outside of Lee. I can't really include Lee because he has proven in spades,he is not sturdy. Jaylon still has much to prove.

Wilson had some legal trouble. He ran into a lady at a stadium with his truck. And pulled a rifle. Case was dropped but NFL was looking into it last I heard. Which means goodell will suspend him when we need him.

DW at this point in his career is still not a very good football player.

Seems like every year the team gives DW a chance to become a starter but he always comes up short.

Upgrade the DT spot so hopefully the LB doesn't have to make all the plays by himself. Grab 1 LB early, grab another in the 4th or later for depth and development.

Give me at least two (2) of these players in the draft and I'll be happy. I'd be happier with 3 of them.

1st - Kyle Vander Esch or Tremaine Edmunds
2nd/3rd - Micah Kiser
4th/5th/6th - Josey Jewell or Genard Avery or Darius Leonard or Tegray Scales
7th - Kenny Young or Joel Iyiegbuniwe

He's been way more average than I was hoping for, he needs to make some crazy strides this year.

Usually they wait until the Cowboys are in a bind to make that decision.
If we draft LBs with our first 2 picks, then the Wilson situation will probably be forgotten.
If we don't draft a LB until later in the draft and are dependent on Wilson in 2018, than the hammer will drop.

cut him now. I'm serious. Don't need this crap to linger and hold the team hostage. I'm sick of it!! If it aint bad enough Lee ..God Bless him,HOLDS THIS TEAM HOSTAGE each year almost, like ground hog day! The last thing we should be doing is keeping Wilson around only to be suspended. Cut the guy now and lets focus on building up that position with good players. We need bodies at LB right..ones that will be available to us!! Tired of these chirades each year.
