When Damien Wilson made that nice tackle for loss on a third down (think it was third and short) I saw #57 and for whatever reason my mind said, nice tackle by Victor Butler lol.

Hope Damien Wilson turns out to be a good surprise for us like Hitchens was last year.

I don't wish injury on the other possible starters, just hope Wilson does good if he is called upon to play.

The kid showed good awareness on that play. What I was more impressed with, though, is the DT (Bishop?) who engulfed the o-line long enough for Wilson to shoot the gap.

Was really high on Bishop going into the draft, was really happy when we picked him. He showed a few flashes last year in camp but looked lost. Hopefully he is getting it now.

I saw 57 and thought Devontae Holloman. Had that guy not had a serious, career-ending neck injury, he'd be a player for us right now.

I too hope Wilson becomes an active contributor.

Both Bishop and Coleman showed flashes last night. If they continue to do so, T. McClain's career, along with his always injured butt, will die hard.

I rewound that play twice to try to see who it was that got that push, too. Nice teamwork.

It's a lot easier in those lbs if they can play coming forward and not have to run laterally because the blocks are on them all the time.

That's what I see too. Holloman and Wilson are talented guys.

Wilson made a lot of tackles and was around the ball. He had one play where he missed the TFL and then turned around and caught the RB from behind within a 5 yards span which I thought was pretty impressive. Definitely looks like he could replace Wilber.

I like him as our first LB coming off the bench... We know how the LB position can be a merry go round during the season

Wilson looks good. His size and agility look really good and he looks very comfortable on the field for a rookie in his 1st NFL game action.

He did let himself get boxed out on a big run on the play just before he made the big play in the backfield, but that's about the only mistake I saw.

Wilson immediately reminded me of Hitchens last year. A little slow to diagnose on some plays, but when he sees it quickly he is there before anyone. Sean Lee's injuries aside, the future is bright at linebacker.

Anyone else notice some of the similarities to this draft as compared to 2014?

4th round LB, Damien Wilson --- 4th round LB, Anthony Hitchens
1st round (talent-wise) college OT/likely OG prospect, La'el Collins --- 1st (OT/OG), Zack Martin
2nd round DE, Randy Gregory --- 2nd round DE, DeMarcus Lawrence

I'm not saying they are the same types of players -- just that we seem to have found (so far it seems at least) some nice talent at LB, OL, and DL in similar corresponding rounds.

I like Wilson and think he has a chance to be a player in this league.

Side note: If only we could combine Bishop and Coleman into one person because that would make for a fast bull rushing DL

I think he will be a great LB someday and a good one this year.
