Statistically, WR's a more valuable position than LT now. Second most valuable in football.

Teams are paying like it now too.
lol

No, LT is and always will be one of the core must have positions.

I think they are both good, and I'm glad both are on the team. I hope both reach their potential!
Yes, I hold out hope that Jabril can contribute as a LB, but it find it funny how many fans love him despite doing nothing up to this point.

Fans hate Jalen Tolbert and Kelvin Joseph but love Cox.

Spotrac says different.. The average LT makes almost 5.8 million a year.. The average receiver comes in at 2.8.

If one counters that you have to consider all tackles because they don't separate #1 receiver from the rest.. then fine.. Right tackles average 3.4 million a year..

Check out the free agent market last offseason and this previous draft (6 WRs in the first 18 picks, off my head). It will take a few more seasons and a few more expiring contracts for the averages to catch up, but the WR market is white hot.

How are WR’s statistically more valuable than LT’s? I’m not looking to argue, I’m just curious.

PFF did a study on it. I can't find the article I read earlier this year, but I found an article from 2021 (using 2020 data). that put them at #4. They generated about 3x more extra wins that season than a tackle.

Alright man. Thanks for answering and for digging that up. I was wondering where you were coming from.

I appreciate it.

People are like, “Draft in the trenches. Trenches, trenches, trenches! Stop drafting for fantasy football!”

Then suddenly, Dallas should have drafted WR Pickens instead of the best OL in the draft, lol.
Hard to take it serious homie. Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow fam!

Without a solid OL you have nothing on offense, it just won't function against teams with a good pass rush. If you have a great OL then you really control the game and help your defense stay fresh. One of the things the Cowboys have done right lately is prioritizing the offense line.

People that liked Jabril Cox as a draft pick just can't let it go.

Clark was by far a better player in college than Jabril.
Cox is more of a nickel only player who specializes in coverage. Think his best role would be the Kearse one, not a run player at all

33 looked solid against the run a little hesitant against the pass.

Il sure it’ll improve with more reps but the positive he still looks like a quality athlete after the injury.
He had no camp either so he’s learning everyday
He’s gonna benefit from the snaps he gets this year, then a full nfl off season and training camp
Kids got a bright future

While I’d take the LT if I’m picking and both players are equal, I do agree with that WR is now fully entrenched as a premium position.

I’ve always said I think if you’re going to draft a WR in the 1st you have to think they can be a #1. Now they’re flying off the board in round one and teams are drafting #2s. That and dudes are making $30 mil a year.

Might not be a popular opinion - but Lambs floor is going to be $25mil if he continues to progress the way he has.

Is it just me but it seems like it's some of the veteran guys trying to hard to make a play and losing contain while these young guys stepping in and trying to do what the coaches are telling them to do. This last draft is looking really solid so far.

Yeah...I love D-Law but he is bad at that at times.

Jabril was 'the man' before Damone became 'the man'.

However, as regards skill sets are they a direct comparison? With the league shifting into a more run orientated offense, moving forward, Jabril's ability to cover and providing size in the run defense may allow us to play more 4-3, rather than Nickel sets.

Micah/Damone/Jabril seems a nice compliment of skillsets you'd want in your LB's

Most impressive play for me was the Sam Williams tackle on the 40. As he didnt pass-rush and sealed his edge well (not a common accusation levelled at a lot of our RDE plays) does this bode well as a 3 snap DE in the near future? Acknowledge that the play was against a second string LT, but his weakness as per NFL.Com scouting report was against the run and setting the edge at DE....was this a one off, or is he making great strides to become a regular?
