Dan Bailey Kicked With Herniated Disc Since Week 4

Making 27 field goals out of 32 attempts is a pretty good stat to have for a season, but to do it with herniated disc? That’s a different story. According to NBC DFW sportswriter Pat Doney, Dallas Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey played through the back injury for all of the 2016 season.

Doney reports Bailey has been dealing with back issues since 2014, but the pain increased around the time the team played San Francisco. The week after the 49ers game the team was bringing in kickers for tryouts just in case Bailey couldn’t kick by the next game.

And it wasn't disclosed? Now we stand to lose a second round pick, ala Seahawks/Richard Sherman.

What's up with all the disc injuries this year? It is just ridiculous how many of our players struggled with that ailment this year.

I could not hardly watch him attempt that 52 yarder to tie the game Sunday.I just knew the way the game was going it was going to be blocked or a false start.

Dan steps up and nails it perfectly.

My heart was beating very rapidly during this game and while i know it is probably because i'm now 49 and was drinking and smoking cigarettes .My heart rate beats fast during games since i was a teenager watching games....only when i was young i did not even notice.

But i think it is because i have an enduring love for this team since i was 8 years old.

This loss was devastating for the team and all true Cowboy fans.Could not be more proud of this young team.

I could not believe this magical year ended like it did.

When this was going on, it was being reported that Bailey just slept wrong in the team hotel and that it wasn’t a major issue.
I seem to recall at the time it was blamed on a bad hotel mattress.

It's always one consistent injury. Hamstrings, abs, groin, back.

He was listed on the injury report for weeks 5 and 6. Since it wasn't bothering him that much the rest of the season he didn't need to be listed.

Bailey is an all-time Cowboy great right up there with Written IMO.

Lol Written

Didn't say he was better than Jason, just that he is among the all-time great Cowboys like Witten. Seems like a pretty uncontroversial statement given Bailey's accuracy and reliability.

You accidentally added an R to Witten spelling it Written. That is why he laughed.

So will he have offseason surgery I'm assuming? Not sure what the prognosis for a kicker would be... Should we be worried?

Whatever weight routine these guys are doing, they need to alter it.

This is literally like 6 or 7 guys this year with back problems. Wth
