I'd love to have him. Instinctive and servicable in coverage. I almost wonder if the Cowboys wouldn't kick Carter out to OLB in base packages. I like his athleticism but I question whether he has the instincts to stay clean through the trash inside.

carter would have unreal speed at OLB but he is too small and cannot rush the passer well. We minus well go with butler before we go with carter unless we want to use carter for alot of coverage (if that is the case we minus well switch to the 4-3).

That's why I would hope this would be a bad move. Because the best scenario for the Cowboys is Bruce Carter emerging this year.

Worse case scenario, we have some quality depth. It's not unprecedented, a few years ago we took a LB from Tennessee, his name slips my mind, he never was a starter here, but played great in sub packages.

Would be a GREAT pickup imo. Under the radar, but he played real well in Carolina. We need at least 3 MLBs anyways, regardless of whose starting. Would be a great fit.
