Dan Connor article

Connor is an upgrade over Brooking or James in a 3-man MILB rotation, w/ Lee and Carter. Hopefully Woicik and staff can build upon his physicality and keep him healthy going forward. I'm really happy with the acquisition.

Connor is younger but he doesn't have Brooking's leadership ability or instincts. Connor is an average player who is insurance for Sean Lee. He can come in and play but will not wow anyone. Like a poor man's Robert Jones.

I hope the Cowboys do not disregard Kuechly b/c they signed Connor.

Going to be a nice rotation with Lee, Carter, and Connor

Love the signing

I agree. If they can all stay healthy, we will have a nice trio of athletic ILBs. Something we haven't had in a long time.

I remember seeing againts the Falcons last year and he was terrible, missed tackles, always far from the ball.

I hope Carter pans out as a three down LB.

Connor is being brought in for depth. We are going to roll with Lee and Carter as staters, no doubt in my mind. You can't expect every player to be a super star. Connor will probably be one of the better bench players at the LB position.

IMO, Connor starts the season opener with Carter as the nickel lb with Lee.

Then, depending on how Carter does, he'll get more playing time in the base packages.

I'll think we'll still draft a linebacker, but not till the second or third day. Someone that fits a traditional Silb, who can take on Guards a lot, 250+.

Or Dont'a Hightower, one can dream lol

he is tough guy who stops the run. Pretty much what you want from ILB in 3-4.

Sorry, but this guy is a bum. I would bet money that Keith Brooking would beat him out in an open competition, and that is saying something.

I think Connor has a chance to grow and yes improve in Dallas. He has hit a streak of bad luck in the injury department but I think he is more capable than his pro stats indicate. At Penn St. he had 13 sacks and 4 ints in 3 years and has been a solid guy up the middle in college as well as the pros.

At 6'2" 231 I'm interested in seeing him transition to the 3-4 so before I claim what he is capable of or not I would 1st like to see how he does making this move. Having former teammate Lee should be a big help in making the change

I love the pick up for a few reasons. One he adds depth. Two this could be the opportunity to push carter to see what he's capable of. If he fails we have our penn state lb crew for years but if he comes out and turns head then Connor signed a nice two year deal and not long term

He's a perfect fit here since Carter can play the nickel linebacker.

Connor is a good solid ILB that can play day one. We still don't know what we have in Carter, is he the next Lee, Kevin Burnett or Jason Williams?

And maybe Sean Lee can push and motivate him kinda help him step up his game as they are old PSU teamates, roomies and friends. I like the Connor signing too. The rap on him seems to be he lacks coverage skills but is pretty good at tackling and playing the run. Whether he starts or plays a role in various Rob Ryan packages remains to be seen.

Bit small for a 4-3 Middlie LB it would seem.

Does he add anything on special teams?

He will likely rotate into the ILB mix, and provide younger depth/backup IF Carter turns into what we all hope.

We could probably use a bigger LB for shorter yardage play though. With a small NT, and 3 smaller ILB I wonder if we will get pounded on up the middle a bit?
