Dan Orlovsky: 2-3 years before the Cowboys are relevant again

Not 2 or 3 years ....... how ever many years it will be till Jerry is in the ground.

The Cowboys are in trouble because the Eagles and Lions have deep talented young rosters. When you look at young up and coming teams like Green Bay, Minnesota, Chicago, Washington; Seattle, ect. The Cowboys will have to hit on a few drafts to get back in it.

we need to start now because we'll probably need him before then
I agree but it has to be a good fit. I'm not sure this draft is the time to find one. We can't afford to use the first three picks on QB ( too many other needs ) and don't have a 4th. Takes a lot of luck to develop a 5ht rounder into an NFL starter.

I agree we have needs much bigger needs with our PREMIUM picks than to waste it on a QB, but if they DO hawk, they're telling us something (if he didn't have the huge contract, it would REALLY be telling) if we drafted a QB with a premium pick!

I have no problem getting one in the 5th-7th hell look at Purdy??? lol, I also don't want a QB who's just a pocket passer, he has to be able to move around and run if need be

Exactly........think about it. The Eagles and Lions are so stacked that they will only reload the next 2-3 years. The next level of teams mentioned have rosters good enough to contend for playoffs. We are struggling with a team that can barely stay above 500.

* yes, at best.

Our decline will be slow. This FO is delusional and will hold onto any shred of hope and milk it, before admitting to any failure and changing course.

You are exactly right .....using a 1st, 2nd or 3rd on QB is clearly saying they think Dak's time is nearly over. My only problem with a 5th-7th rounder he's a free agent in 4 years. To have him sit 2-3 w/o knowing how good he can be but as a 5th rounder, the odds are not in your favor. So you wasted 2-3 years on a player who had little chance to begin with. Kinda similar to the trey Lance experience

Damn hawk I thought I had something good going with you, and you rained on my parade!! Lol, you're right, but let's look further, what if he's another feel good story a la Romo/Dak where he comes in for our starting QB and ends up being the next QB of this franchise!!??? That's asking a lot in my point, but you're point is spot on

I don't like their odds of winning the superbowl. I think they are already rebuilding. Interesting to see if The new offensive coaches can fix the oline play. They are very young. The talking heads act as if this is a very old team. Not the case. I think people are OK knowing its a rebuilding team. He is right that they should have pulled the plug on Mike and started this a year ago.

Yep, with these 2 amatuers running the show, who knows when we will be competetive again?
Dak is in serious decline and they wont be fortunate to find a decent QB in the 4th round or street free agent like the last 2.
We are looking at a repeat of the Campo years.....

100% ........ The 2024 Packer playoff loss will be one to remember. I still don't think we have the whole story behind it and probably won't for years.
If we ever do. I still want the story of Jason Garrett's firing. Absolute silence from the star while Garrett hangs around the lobby and does "exit interviews". Wut?

The path we are taking is baffling. This team needs a reboot. There has never been a better time to gut this roster, trade away assets, and rebuild. We aren't catching the Eagles anytime soon and the Commanders look firmly entrenched behind them. The draft is deep at QB next year. Trade Dak for 2 first round picks. Trade Micah for 2 first round picks. Trade CD for a first. That's 5 #1 picks to add to our own giving this team the ammunition and cap flexibility it's going to need to build a contender. We will suck in 2025 but so what? We have no shot anyway.
Can I give you 10 likes ?

Any number of years is just pulling a number out of your arse, there is no definitive plan by the FO and no prior history that they have the knowledge on how to instigate this plan. And to what relevance are we talking about? Get back to hanging around the rim?

Wish I could be more optimistic, but I’m not one from the rose colored glasses crowd.
