That is the margin in the NFL between teams that go to a super bowl and teams that don't make it out of wildcard weekend. Always a "could of/ should of" and we would have won.

They have a better OL. They have a better secondary. They have a better wr core. The Eagles are the real deal and will go as far as Hurts can take them.
The statement I made was about the game the Lions played vs Philly, and implying they (PHI) are very beatable.

They should be pissed at their play on that last drive because that was exactly what the Niners did to them.

They knew PHL was going to run the ball because that’s what they do when they are ready to impose their will on a defense. It is akin to getting your butt beat and having your lunch money taken.

Quinn gets creative with the looping and stunts with his pass rush but when it comes to man up defense to stop the run, they are still lacking.

He still does not have the talent like he had in SEA. That D was set up to stop the run first and force the passing game.

On the high side, they will not face many teams with that OL and desire to run the ball like PHL. Hurts is the most effective running QB in the league, even more than Jackson because he doesn’t make nearly as many mistakes.

This, 20-17 and they roll right down the field with no resistance whatsoever.

Start by putting Kellen Moores head through a wall and pushing Kerry Jones down a flight of stairs.

Why did our corners allow Jalen Hurts to make those 1 step drops throws by playing soft coverage? Jalen can’t throw the ball deep and we play so far off allowing him to complete underneath passes and let the receivers run after the catch. This soft coverage also negated our pass rush. This was a real head-scratcher for me. Hurts didn’t throw at Diggs all night and we can’t take advantage of that either? Philly’s OC successfully schemed Parsons out of the game. I love Dan Quinn, but he got out coached on this one. So I hope he is pissed. That being said two interceptions and a turnover on downs in our own territory had a huge affect on the game.I just expected more from our defense.
What makes you think he can't pass deep? He is the 9th highest-rated deep passer this year.

I believe the OP title is accurate and that the defense to be genuinely pissed. It really is just one of those things where you look at the overall body of work as giving up 269 yards as outstanding.

But then you counter it with Philly's one sustained drive at the most critical juncture in the game and they could not get stops. And they had just re-gained the momentum by cutting it to 20-17.

This was the time the defense needed one more stop. And it didn't happen.

Credit to Philly, they made the plays when they most needed to be made.

Hopefully the rematch will be different.
