I would admittedly be extremely agitated if the Cowboys had their pick of Goff or Lynch and passed them up for Jack. I don't think the Cowboys will end up with a shot at either, but would be complaining loudly and for a long time if they pass on either one.

We all would.

If that ended up being our position, would probably take Nkemdiche in that spot - or Treadwell.

Nkemdiche is going to be a beast. If they don't think the QBs are franchise caliber I wouldn't be upset with that pick. If they have similar grades on one of the QBs take them. If they are grade out much lower then Nkemdiche is fine by me. Some people have him as the top player in the draft.

Not so fast. There are still people who do not believe we should draft a QB right now.

I don't see a need to pick a QB in this class. If the scouting department really likes 1, and he's BPA then of course. But no way we should be taking a QB top 10 in a weak QB class just for the sake of taking 1. Goff and Lynch are both far from sure things.

Neither Goff nor Lynch is a sure thing. It's not like they are Andrew Luck.

Andrew Lucks of the world come once in a decade, you cant wait for them and even then you have suck at the right time to get lucky.

Not sure honestly, hard to tell with not knowing what Jr's will and won't declare. Either way it still wouldn't matter to me. My whole point was not forcing a QB pick high just because people think we need to "develop" 1 behind Romo. Drafting the wrong QB in the top 10 can set a franchise back years, let's not just take the 1st 1 that becomes available. I could make some corny analogy about dating/marriage but I'm sure you get the gist.

I like Lynch and Goff so that would annoy me.

Passing on Nkemdiche would be colossally stupid there.

I love Jack but not at pick 5 and not over those 3 players.

If we pick anywhere in the top 5, take the BPA, regardless of position or need. We honestly have so many needs at so many positions that it really doesn't matter what position we take.........other than O-line.

it would make me think of Aaron Rodgers sitting there at our pick and us passing on him....again...when we know we desperately need a QB for the future.
The thing of it is, teams (outside the typical loser lot) don't get to draft in the top 10 and esp the top 5 very often. When you do, you almost HAVE to take a QB if there is a good one and you have an inkling of a need for one. This is twofold, one because of the salary cap, and two because in the current league a QB is the absolute must-have position that you just absolutely CANNOT win without a good one. If you use your first round pick on a QB EVERY YEAR but eventually hit on one you are light years better off than if you have a GREAT team without a good QB.

The Cowboys would be stupid if they had a Top 5-7 pick and passed on a guy much higher on their board for a developmental QB. I know everyone wants a QB for the future but you can't just blindly grab a guy because you have a Top 10 pick and because Mel Kiper or Dana Brugler say Goff is the 3rd best prospect you have to take him.

You're assuming the Cowboys scouts don't love Goff or Lynch themselves.

I am not assuming anything. Read my post. I said they'd be stupid if they passed on a guy rated higher on their board just to grab a QB that they want to stash behind Romo for 3 years.

If Lynch or Goff is the highest rated player on the board at their pick, they should take him.

Look at the bright side. Not only is Jack a linebacker. He also plays running back. Talk about versatility.

I'd be disappointed if we passed on Goff/Lynch. On this team, the backup quarterback plays every season. Romo isn't Benjamin Button.
