This kind of seem likes a pick that gets you to 8-8. I like Preston a lot. Very versatile. Not a fan of his first step. Seems Greg Ellis-ish. Solid not spectacular. But solid is pretty good for a DE at 27. If he grades out in that range I'm cool with it.

That dude is smoking some serious stuff if he thinks Pres Smith is a top 40 prospect...And I like Smith. He's a late 2nd round pick because he's a DE that isn't a real pass rush threat off of the edge. If we do end up drafting him (not at 27) I actually think he would be adding 10-15 pounds to be a 3 tech.

I'd be thrilled with Greg-Ellisish at 27 in just about any draft. Greg was a pretty dang good player and a successful pick for us.

That said, give me a trade down it the front of the 2nd and some more picks if we're looking at players like Preston Smith at 27. This is a deep DL draft if nobody we love falls to us.

You beat me to it, I'd love to draft the next Greg Ellis at 27. At 7, not so much, but after 20, I'd take that

No you can't get a pass rusher at 27 without warts. Those guys usually go top 15 if not top 10.

I mean there are so many topical ointments now a days to deal with warts. If they are on your feet it may slow down the first step but shouldn't be a deal breaker.

I am a big Preston smith fan but i dont now if you draft him at 27,he is more of threat inside than strong side DE ,i wonder how he will test at the combine.
