Dane Mock

Belt said 80% chance Dallas moves up. Said it could be a small move up (wouldn’t cost 20) or a big move up , but 80% chance they move up.
So, in a year with thin elite talent especially at the more valuable positions most of the teams in the top 10 are looking to trade down according to reports but OUR beloved FO thinks this is the time to trade up. Bout sums up the post Jimmy era.

Hmm, Dane/Kiper both have the Cowboys trading up to 6 for Styles. They must know something.
And from my understanding from following Brugler in the past, he has very strong ties to the Browns organization. I think he either lives there or used to live there...

Seems like a trend now for that 6-39 trade. And Styles being that guy at 6.

Romello Height I watched at GT.
Now GT is no Texas Tech when it comes to athletes, and get why he jumped to Texas Tech, but he was just alright at GT.
And GT will have two DT's in the NFL next year with Biggers(25) and Van Den Berg(26) so it's not like he was playing alongside no NFL talent.

Stats wise he hit 10 sacks with TT, so obviously a good season there. Did he look the part or take advantage of just being around 10 better players on defense?
I watch TT’s entire season and Height is a stud. He got overshadowed by Bailey but he can play.

In my opinion, he is a better version of Lve. More of a Will that doesn't take on blocks well, along with decent instincts, but far from elite. Remember when Lve came out, many said he was an ascending prospect where his best play is ahead of him. Clearly, his injury affected his career, but I do not want an upside pick again. There is some bust potential with Styles. He does have the best ball of clay to work with, but people who are expecting a walk in star with be disappointed.
Well if this is true and the pick is Styles and for them to trade up to get him tell you how bad they want him and I doubt this is done without CP blessing.

Fair point. If you take the last part out about CP, I would tell you it inspires little to zero confidence in me. However, I do agree that CP is heavily involved. That does make me feel much better.

Height is one of my favorite 3rd rd prospects if he lasts that long. He possesses something we really don't have, that bendy type of edge rusher. He might just be a rush specialist, but a good one. Him and Perkins are my favorites for that pick at 93.

It's more that he's 500 years old.

If they really arent willing to trade 20, they arent trading up for 6

CP is the variable here that is giving me pause on the decision-making algorithm this year. He's an unknown variable that is hopefully what we need to really make this draft a grand slam and keep a SB contending roster achievable for next year.

Most drafts in the past 10 or so years I am kind of checked out on and just wait and see how the kids we drafted actually perform on the field. This year I'm a little more invested and think that's because of CP

Cowboys

6 stlyles
39 stukes
92 Height
112 McClellan
152 Demmings

Cowboys trade w browns obviously

This is my least favorite player to trade up for. I’m not diggin this at all

I'd be fine with this

A big, fast Off-Ball LB is the overwhelming "need" for the Cowboys.

Draft Media often go by what they preceive as the biggest need for a team.

Styles gives me Lve vibes, taking him in a trade up scares the hell out of me

LVE would have been really good if not for the neck issue.

I would be OK if I knew for certain that Styles will be at least as good as LVE was at his peak.
- Peak LVE might not be quite what you would prefer at #12 but it's not bad considering the other options in this draft at #12.
- I would be very reluctant to trade up for Styles.

If Stukes was 21 he’d be a top 15 pick, guys a dog and probably has the best range in the class

they have been drafting those big, athletic will linebackers and playing them at the mike. Lve was probably the best, but we really haven’t had an elite linebacker since Sean Lee. He was a player who saw the play before he happened and beat the blockers to the spot. Want an high iq, instinctive backer.

Not saying Styles isn’t a good prospect, but haven’t seen enough to suggest he worth trading up for into the top 10, even with this class that is weak at the top. I like Allen, Rodriguez, Trotter the most
