I'm warming up to the idea of taking Ridley in rd 1 and then taking Settle in rd 2

I think maybe 2 or possibly 3.
But to me, this draft is full of 2nd and 3rd round WRs and with so many other quality players, the WRs get pushed down.

If the team attacks free agency the way we expect........... meaning they will just sign slop........... you have to come out of this draft with a few impact players. You can't trade your 2nd round pick to move up in the first round if you are counting on the draft to fill multiple holes.

Now, if the Jones get a little aggressive in FA and restructure some guys to create some space, that might change the math a bit.

Probably yes. The dropoff from Edmunds/Smith/James is pretty significant to me. Payne fills a hole and makes us better. Edmunds makes an impact.

They actually have 4 WRs in the 1st now.

That win in the last game of the season may have saved Garretts life but sure didn't help our draft plans. Honestly I would have started tanking after Thanksgiving. Adding one more top ten talent to this team on defense or offense would have been stellar in a season where we weren't making the playoffs anyways. But hey, hind sight right

It's simply tied to the way we do business. I'd consider it if we were one LB away from being an elite defense. But we aren't. So with no real aggressiveness in FA, I can't justify then using two of your best picks to take a LB.

Its one of the 5 hard to find premium positions along with QB, DE, LT, and #1 Corner. Better believe teams are going to throw picks at them.

Fairly reasonable mock. A bit surprised that Will Hernandez, Billy Price and James Daniels all went in the first round.

I think if the draft played out in this fashion, I would NOT trade up for Vita Vea (as much as I would love to have him). Rather, I would be tickled to get Payne
