From a player perspective do they get paid the same whether they're active or on IR?
Yes they do get paid their normal salary however long they are IR.
If a team cuts a player before they are medically cleared to play. The team has to pay them an injury settlement. I’m not sure what injury settlement figures are.
Actually, I think many players have split contracts that specify a % of their contract they will get if they go on IR.
Same pay if they stay on IR all year. The team has the option to cut them when healthy. From a player perspective do they get paid the same whether they're active or on IR?
True. But that's a real jerk move by the team if you've got a guy who played for you in actual games.
It is fine for a UDFA but not someone who contributed.
That’s a slick move.
I guess everyone is doing it.
This is the time when teams store away guys...
I think that is only for players that were injured when signed.True. But that's a real jerk move by the team if you've got a guy who played for you in actual games.

Last game, shoulder I think, it was reported 2 days ago that he would probably be IRed!How and when did he get injured?![]()
As long as he is not playing in the games. Ross is not good.Last game, shoulder I think, it was reported 2 days ago that he would probably be IRed!

If he was he wouldn't be a backup... didn't he cause the goal line fumble in the Saints or was it another game last year!As long as he is not playing in the games. Ross is not good.

Hmmm... he backed up woods on every 1/3 series or so last year, I dont really remember their being that noticeable a difference when he was in. If he so bad against the run, then why insert him in the heavy goal line defenses? He made an occasional play but was terrible against the run in general.
