Danny Amendola - Preseason Game 2 - Recap

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in order for a player to not make the practice squad, some other team has to sign said player to their 53-man roster via waivers. If this is true, then I am more confident he will make the PS. He hasn't shown much in pre-season, partly because Bartel sucks major arse.

when Bartel scrambled.....Amendola was wide open in the back of the end zone...all Bartel had to do was float it to him, but we are talking about Bartel here.

Amendola and Lowber are going to look like crap because after Romo, our QBs are crap. I would like to see some of Terrell. I know he is probably crap too, but I would like to confirm it as such in a game.

I would love to see Amendola and Lowber get some real playing time with Romo at QB, but I know it won't be happening. I think with Romo back there, these guys would actually show much more of what they can do on the field.

Just got to thinking, maybe Wade & Co are doing Parcells & Co did to Austin their rookie year.

I recall there was some hiding going on with Austin that year. Give him very opportunities, thus limiting his time on film. Giving the 'boys a better chance to squeeze him on their PS.

Just a thought..

Is that your professional opinion?

:lmao2:
Because it is certainly not a fact.

I guess the other option is he wont be here altogether, because he isnt making the active roster

Just saw hard knocks and that INT on Bartel was because of Amendola.

Hmm. Two turnovers in two weeks, not the way to go.

Side note, I'm glad it wasn't Lowber. I hope he can make the PS and stick around for a little while.

Hell, if Danny keeps burying himself, Lowber might make the team.

was the reason for the bartel interception on 4th and goal. He and bartel had a miscommunication and the ball was picked.

If there was a miscommunication between the QB and the WR then how is it the WR fault?

I don't what the route is called but it looked like a quick slant except for he and changed directions back toward the sideline after getting to the center of the field.

After changing directions he gave a few quick steps towards the sideline and then just cut the route off and stopped.

Without knowing the route, it looked like Dannys fault all the way to me.

Heres the highlights.

Around 3:20.

I think the Cowboys are trying to sneak him onto the practice squad through the back door so I don't expect much from him tonight or next week.

Yeah I agree, PS is where he will most likely go, so I expect no impact tonight or next week.

I don't think there is going to be a mad rush from other teams to get him. I would hope they will give Amendola some playing time tonight he needs it the guy has really shown nothing and I think he will have to show something to make the practice squad.

tbh, hoofbite, it could have gone either way. If that was an option route, danny probably made the right read in cutting it off and going back inside if the corner had outside position. If it wasn't, well then it's Amendola's fault. No way to know, really.

Yeah. If he had kept the slant he would've ran into double coverage with the LB standing there. Who knows...........

To think, based on media reports and message-board legend building, that teams are lining up to place Amendola on their 53 is a stretch- a big stretch.

I don't think we'll ever know who's fault it was, but I think it was an option route where if he saw zone coverage he was supposed to sit in a hole. He did make a move towards the sideline, but I'm guessing he was supoosed to just sit, yet Bartel threw outside.

The preseason is so strange. Let's say he has a better than average punt return and also makes a great catch. Does this mean he all the sudden makes the team based on 2 plays?
