A good player steps up when he has an opportunity. This guy does that. I think we have a "Miles" Player in FS with Danny. We may see it this weekend. This team needs this sooo bad ever since Woody has gone.

I'm the eternal optimist but I can't see it.

He barely ever started at LSU. Had 3 int's and none in 2008 or 2009.

maybe he is the matt cassel of safeties, he was a back up all the years but he obviously just needed an opportunity. maybe it is a good thing he didn't start because he probably got less bad coaching at LSU, and he is hungry cause he never got his shot at LSU

I like him in this nickle LB kinda role. I just need to see him play more, but so far i like what i've scene.

i feel we squandered our chance at the safties position and have to live with what we got, but lets not get hopeful over every player, majority will be a let down.

I watched him at LSU. He will NOT disappoint.

I say why not. He's still made more plays in a Cowboys uniform than Ball, and I'm not even including his garbage-time INT at the end of the Texans game.

Did I miss something?? Is he starting? Is Ball hurt?

It's hard to use the he didn't even really play in college argument on a team with a bunch of guys who didn't show enough in college to be drafted high, or at all (Romo, Austin, Ratliff).

He has more INTs this year than either of our safeties and he's only been on the field a few plays, so I'm on board. :laugh2:

No. IMO, the safeties of the future are AOA at FS and Church at SS. Both Church and AOA are better football players than McCray.

His INT was a garbage INT. It's still an INT, but it wasn't a big time play.

Definitely. But the guy does produce with the reps he's got. I was a Church fan coming into training camp (still like him a lot, too), but McCray's playing even better right now. I love that we're able to find players in late rounds.

He is? From what I remember seeing, McCray was only on the field during garbage time. Church was on the field several times and even made a goal line stuff. I mean; I could be wrong, but I only remember seeing McCray during garbage time and ST. I know Church has played in critical situations and made a play doing it.

Church has played in goalline. He's a in the box safety with no range.

I don't think the Cowboys have any plans for McCray at safety. He's a nickel LB type(STs ace), similar to Hodge. Church is the guy they see as a possible starter at SS.

I'll take small time INTs over no INTs. :laugh2: For the record, I don't expect McCray to do anything but be a special teamer for us. I was just messing around about the INT.

McCray plays nickle linebacker for us too and had a big key 3rd down stop for us last game. He is going to be a player for us
