@MelKiperESPN says he "heard through the grapevine" that Flynn is not guy for #Commanders, that Peyton Manning is. Terrible plan if true.

Eh...I don't see why Peyton would even want to play there.

Browns will move up to #2 to take Griffin.

Thereby rendering Colt McCoy expendable...

I love it when a plan comes together... now, if we can only figure out a way to get Jordan Shipley to wear his welcome out in Cincinnati, then Jaxson will graduate in a coupla years...

I thought you liked winning...

Guess I was wrong... :D

Peyton would not go to the same division that his brother plays in.

Add this to the mix:

Washington Commanders president of operations Dennis Greene was overheard telling people at a Washington Economic Club luncheon today that a new quarterback has been chosen, “and fans will be elated.” Greene said the mystery player’s name won’t be revealed until April, when the NFL draft occurs.

He is who we thought he was...

Thats a reason to go. Id like to see Peyton in Washington for the drama it'd cause

He'd be stupid to even consider it--especially if he's on the downward side of his career--although I guess the Colts could do whatever they like with his rights and he could opt to retire (a la Jake Plummer).

I thought that was the speculation about obviously whiny Eli not wanting to be drafted by the Chargers--they didn't want to be in the same conference, much less same division.

Peyton would be crazy to go to Washington. If he can't play in Indy, I bet he retires. I think that neck is worse than folks think.

With all due respect... :puke:

I would love for Payton to go to Washington. I don't see him lasting very long in the NFC East. It would set their franchise back even further if he's no good to play. Plus that means that the Commanders will not be getting RG3.

I'd be thrilled if this happens. Even if Peyton comes back and plays solid he's got a couple of years left before father time catches up entirely and the NFL career is over.

Getting Peyton means that they won't get RGIII and in a couple of years, tops, they'd be right back to square one without a QB and not a real competive force again.

And given all the other holes they have I wouldn't worry about Peyton getting them to a Superbowl either in his short time there so it's a win/win for all.
