I dont know how Jones would peg todays loss on Garrett, or why it would weigh heavily on his decision to keep him as HC or let him go elsewhere.

That said, I dont think Jones has his mind made up on what he will do one way or another.

I doubt he's pegging the loss on Garrett but it was a game that everyone thought the Cowboys would win and the team didn't look very inspired at the start.

It's looking like Garrett is going to end up 4-4 this season finishing out with two straight losses.

Jerry said it's important the Cowboys hit the ground running next season and if Jeff Fisher becomes available I think he would have a tough time passing him up.

.

How did they not look inspired exactly?

They had two bad plays in the first qtr, both because of keystone cop-like moves by highly paid WR's. It certainly wasnt like the entire team came out and laid an egg.

Differing opinions, thats fine, thats what this board is all aobut. I'm not discrediting anything you have said, it is very accurate.

Ditto, man. And I'll reiterate I'm not rooting against Garrett at all.

I was not a Wade fan and think Jason is a huge step up. I'm just hoping the guy on the sideline next year is the best we can get.

wow, the throw to williams is not on williams. That is completely brain dead football from kitna.

he is trying to throw a slant into a zone where the linebacker is sitting playing the slant, so to make up for that he tries to throw it to the backside and it was a bad throw and even worse decision.

the one to austin was just unfortunate he fell down. Just bad luck, although he looked like he had witten dragging across the middle open.

he had austin for an easy td on the drive after the second pick and got jumpy and fired a rocket past miles for no reason. If he stays calm and puts some air under it, austin has a simple walk in td.

Im sorry, I like what kitna has done but he has struggled, he has missed lots of wr and left a bunch of points on the board in the last couple of games. Its why he is a backup. the more he plays the more you can see it.

I still appreciate what he has done though.

I just didn't see quite the same intensity early in the game that I had been seeing the past few weeks.

RW reverted back to what we saw from him last season. Colombo looked like he was sleep walking the entire game.

This was a bad Cardinals team that the Cowboys should have beaten and they didn't look as prepared as they did against some of the better teams they played like they were against Indy.

We saw some of the same stupid mistakes that we saw under Wade.

I took it as nobody else has done it and we aren't going to try.

I definitely didn't take it that way. He was planting the seed of doubt so that people will keep guessing.

Jones quote: "I’m a big believer in a challenge and doing something that has never done before. You know there’s never been a head coach that won a Super Bowl with one team that won it with another. Never. "

If his intent was to garner speculation, he is succeeding.

The way Jerry speaks it is so hard to tell what he is saying sometimes.

This could be taken two ways. One, he could be saying he's a believer in doing something that has never been done before in the sense that he wants to try to win a Superbowl with a coach who hasn't done it before. Or, two, he could be saying it in the sense that he wants to try to be the first team with a coach to win Superbowls with two different teams (which doesn't seem to make any sense as a goal of the team).

I think it was meant to be an endorsement of the possibility of Garrett being coach in that he is saying basically: "It's not likely that a coach who won a Superbowl with another team will come here and win a Superbowl, so don't think that's what I'm after."

Again, the way he structures sentences and says things makes it very hard to interpret what he's trying to say sometimes. But I'm fairly confident he wasn't hinting he was going after a big name coach with a ring.

How he said it was that he loves a challenge. He's either just trying to get press or he is considering one of these former Super Bowl winners for the head coach. Thats the only 2 possibilties.

Don't you think that challenge could be that he wants to try to win with a coach who hasn't won yet?

Not in the context of the way Jones laid it all out. Check out this link:
