Draft Scout Player News
11/29/06 - Coaches All-Big 12 Football Honorable Mention: Darnell Terrell (CB), Leads MU w/7 PBU; added 58 tackles, 3.0 TFLs and 1 INT.

11/06/06 - LOOKING GOOD: CB Darnell Terrell led the Tigers with 10 tackles, including one for a loss, at Nebraska. Missouri was credited with just one pass breakup.

09/18/06 - LOOKING GOOD: CB Domonique Johnson and CB Darnell Terrell - Neither of the first-year starters were ever burned deep and combined to limit New Mexico's explosive wideout, Marcus Smith, to five catches for 58 yards and a late touchdown.

08/13/06 - Terrell was the proclaimed the best player in Missouri after high school in 2003, according to Rivals.com, but didn't qualify and spent two years at Coffeyville. After redshirting in 2003, Terrell started for a 10-2 Coffeyville team in 2004 before barely qualifying academically for Missouri last year. Terrell said last year he didn't find out whether he had passed his math class until the weekend before camp opened. Terrell played in all 12 games last year, making 13 tackles and two interceptions. That playing time makes Terrell one of the most seasoned players in a secondary that returns Overstreet as its only starter. However, Terrell has never started a game, the one thing that will solidify his place as a leader of the defense. "He's a lot more focused as a leader," Overstreet said. "He's probably the leader of that cornerback group. He tries to lead by example and go out there and make plays. And he's got confidence now. He knows he can go out there and shut somebody down. He developed that over the summer. He feels like he can go out there and play with anybody and that's good for us." - Graham Watson, St. Louis Post-Dispatch
