DaRon Bland should be the NFL Defensive Player of the Year

The problem here is these voters have subjective ways they view who should win it and guys like TJ Watt and miles Garrett and even Parsons have a right to be considered and some might look at it a different way but we can only hope that there is less Cowboys bias but we've all seen it for Hall of Fame we've seen it for all pro and all the other voting that goes on that we get overlooked a lot..

Another issue that will likely be brought up even though it had no impact on the record will be that it happened during a 17-game season instead of a 16-game season like the previous records.

Of course Bland got all of his touchdown returns before that extra game happened, but it will still be mentioned by some people I am sure.

Eh I disagree. I don't even think he was a great corner when he wasn't pick 6ing.

Ehhh, he had some bad games where he got toasted. That Seattle game was pretty embarrassing.

Is he truly a lock down corner or an average corner that has very good ball instincts, hands and return ability?

ummm, flat out no he wont or will as much as Daks chances are. Both of them have had tremendous seasons and should/will get votes, but no chance he gets it over the likes of the guy on Cleveland or TJ...I am sure every team in the NFL has one or two players whose fans think they deserve it....

Bland gives up too many yards. Stat Mouse and other sources track this. DK Metcalf agrees.

It's hard not to reward a player who broke a long-standing record. I understand the argument that he didn't play like a Defensive Player of the Year in every game (none of them do), but he led the league in interceptions and did something no other defender had done before. That has merit.

They don't give these big awards to Cowboys unless they absolutely have to.

I learned that when DeMarcus Ware had 20 sacks and didn't get a single DPOY vote.

The winner was a dude who played the same position as Ware, just with fewer sacks.

He was very good when NOT taking interceptions to the house, and THE BEST IN NFL HISTORY when taking interceptions to the house!

He had a historic season when you include all the pick sixes. No other defender had a historic season!

Give DMVP to Bland!

He is ABOVE average at covering + he is EXCELLENT at all the other skills you talked about.

Non of the edge rushers dominated this year. This is the perfect year for Bland to win DMVP.

In the Seattle game, that also highlighted weak safety play. The safeties were non-existent in the passing game against Seattle, and some of those plays were supposed to be broken up by safeties.

Things aren't always what they seem on any given play...sometimes it's hard for fans to comprehend who really missed their assignment on any given play, or the number of people who missed assignments, not merely the one who's in the frame of the play.

Bland is a solid CB, and he's had a really good year. Every CB gets beat throughout a season, especially CBs who aren't surrounded by solid pass-prevent safeties to back them up occasionally.
