Revis looks cooked. I'm surprised he crapped out so early, he looked totally useless at 31 after still looking good at 30.

I'd like to see him wear the star but He's got a cap hit of $17 million and a S.B. ring, will be 32 and 2017 will be 10 years in the league(former 1st Rd draft) and could probably teach our back field a thing or two .if we could get him on the cheap like Atlanta snagged Dwight Freeny(I read $1 mil/single season man, we should've worked harder on signing him)
I think he's still got gas in the tank and could have +4 interceptions playing for us,,, but you guys are right, he's cost prohibitive

Hes about to be released, took last season off, with a team that joined him. If he dedicates to the S position, should we take a flyer on him? Assuming he wants to play.

It's interesting, in a market with very few (now) defensive FA available.

We have Jones, and Revis is not a SS, so it may be redundant.

Thoughts?
I would pass.

If he would take getting paid what he is actually worth that would be one thing. But he still wants Revis Island money and those days are over.

Madden talk at its finest... lol

Plus, Revis doesn't want to switch to Safety. Not sure why. Pride maybe.
Dude is one hell of a business man though.

Revis probably can't play safety. He has decent size but was never a hard hitting player.

Revis is a borderline HOF - I don't count guys like this out. I wouldn't give him a long-term contract, but I'd certainly give him a 1-2 year deal offer and see if he takes it to redeem himself from all the negativity he got last season.

I mean, he got the negativity because he couldn't play CB anymore and was getting lit up all over the field.

Giving him a shot on a cheap deal would be fine because you never know, but he's not a good gamble at this point.

When you have nothing in the backfield, it is a gamble worth it as long as you don't destroy the cap. And most of the criticism towards Revis is that he wasn't motivated and didn't want to play, not that he can't play CB.

You have to start looking at players like this and Carroll when you don't address CB in the draft since 2012. We instead opted to use a top 5 pick on a skill position. This is what happens.

Keep in mind, Revis gets $6 million from the Jets whether he plays a down or not. Therefore, to make it at all worth his effort, anyone interested needs to come in significantly over that $6 million just to get him to think about it.

Let him sit it out till the season starts - then bring him in on a per game contract - if you need him.
