Back in those days Landry did not just draft football players, he drafted athletes that he could turn into football players...
They say "speed kills"...well, Ginn has some speed...
HomeOfLegends;1456785 said:So does Yamon Figurs, Robert Meachem, Romance Taylor and a few dozen other prospects. I prefer football players, if they have speed to go along with it then great.

5Stars;1456772 said:So if I follow your logic, you liked Richmond Flowers?
5Stars;1456789 said:Well, Ginn does play football, right?
OSU is not some small time school...
5Stars;1456791 said:Go operate on a patient or something!
But, yeah, I think the team has other needs...but, it would be good if somehow Ginn ended up in Dallas...

skinsscalper;1456833 said:Landry also drafted Carl Lewis. Yes, THAT Carl Lewis. The wise part of that move was that he didn't draft him in the 1st round. Speed is NOT the be all end all.
SS
HomeOfLegends;1456826 said:He sure does but his speed is his only asset. He's not a great route runner, he does not have the greatest hands, he's on the small side, he's not always willing to go over the middle and his blocking leaves something to be desired. He almost sounds like a corner or return specialist which is ironic because his WR's skills lacked so much last year there was talk at Ohio St that he should be playing corner and there is still talk of that now among NFL teams.
No thanks, if were going to spend a 1st on a WR I want a real one. Ginn is the one guy who can make me like Jarrett.
ThreeSportStar80;1456728 said:The only reason I could see for Dallas drafting Ginn Jr. is because he's so electric in the KR/PR game along with being a unpolished WR.
If I had to choose between a top CB and WR I'd go defense all the way with all things being equal...

Let's play the name fast people game! LOL
jackrussell;1456856 said:Speed isn't his only asset.
He ran the routes required.
He went over the middle ALL the time.
OSU NEVER considered moving him back to CB except in nickel situations.
And ONE article mentioned the NFL (or blog) using him as CB....as have I....3rd WR/Nickel back/KR/PR/emergency QB..immediate impact on this team...and I said that LAST year.
If all those things you list are true..why would Gossellin list him as the #2 WR prospect in the draft?

HomeOfLegends;1456879 said:One opinion among many. Sorry if I don't agree with you or Goss. I'm not the first and won't be the last.
For the record, he also had Charles Rogers and Mike Williams listed in his top 3.

jackrussell;1457047 said:Right. You make a laundry list of what a no talent Ted Ginn is...then want Aaron Ross, the guy he toasted all night long. And it could have been worse had Troy Smith not overthrown Ginn on what would have been a 60 yard TD.
That's...BRILLIANT!
