Darren Howard?

I wanted some feedback on this idea.

According to rumors, there was a great deal of mutual interest between Darren Howard and the Dallas Cowboys last offseason. Onbviously, nothing ever came of it. However, Howard seemed to have a bad year in New Orleans and has fallen off the radar to some extent. Meanwhile, in Dallas, Greg Ellis is complaining about what a bad fit he is here.

Howard can play DE in a 3-4. He can also provide some pass rush skills in case Ellis leaves.

With the cap being what it is, would it be feasible for Dallas to trade Ellis for a Day One draft pick, and sign Darren Howard to assume his role here?

No way...Howard is Ellis. Really good 4-3 guys, too small for the 3-4. We have Canty/Spears, and Coleman and Ratliff backing those guys.

The days of the 6'4 280 pounder around here are gone.

Update - He was not worth the crazy money he askedfor , he never has made and didn't this year make Pro Bowl. We are now a 3-4 with Canty, Spears entrenched for FUTURE. Howard was suspended and sent home by Saints - discipline issues. No story here - again.

Good riddance!!!!!!!! - his kind not needed here.

It doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I am a little curious/concerned about what is going to happen with Ellis. I think that Spears is a little better pass rusher than some ive him credit for, but Ellis one of the few guys on this team who was getting to the QB. If he doesn't stay, which is iffy, I want somenoe who can help rush the passer. Howard was just one idea...I didn't mean to bring up old debates.

In exactly 1 post in the entire 16 page thread did I say anything about Howard to Dallas. You are the author of roughly 25% of the 16 page thread.

Nors is completely obsessed with Darren Howard. So much so that threads that have nothing to do with him get his name dropped in while he beats his chest to tell the world he was against that reported trade.
