Darren Woodson's 40 time entering draft?

According to the late, great Joel Buchsbaum, Darren Woodson was 6-1 3/4, 219 pounds and ran a 4.44 when he was in the 1992 draft.

That's a name I really miss this time of the year.

I wish i would have seen woody play in college...would have been cool to watch a LB shut down WRs

He was the best, no doubt about it... no one else was even close, really...

Which is kind of amusing, since his physique made John Clayton look like a young Arnold Schwarzenegger... I mean, this was the quintessential 40 year old virgin, a total pencil-necked geek... and the next best thing to a recluse...

Maybe that's why he was so good at what he did, though-- obsession... and since I benefitted greatly from his obsession, I'm happy he went the direction he did... :D

Thanks AdamJT, integrity is never an issue with yourself, and that is appreciated...

Even at the 4.4, that would be a very solid speed for a safety, and Woodson was a strong safety. A cornerback needs to be a sub 4.4 time, but a safety is very functional at the above time...which makes Woodson a very top level safety.

Nah.

A corner does not need to be sub 4.40. Not if they know proper technique. Everson Walls is a perfect example of a corner whom I doubt ran faster than a 4.60 forty but his technique was impeccable.

Henry is probably at least a 4.50 forty guy if not slower but he's a darned good corner when not nicked up.

He was the best no doubt. He kinda reminded me of Stephen Hawkins super genius.

I have a Cowboys Weekly (yes, I keep em all) that confirms Woody ran a 4.44 in college. Not sub 4.4 but still fast for a pound 219 LB.
