Worley had the best game of any DB.
- Aldon Smith was the best player on defense with either Worley or Joe Thomas as #2.
  • He had an INT that was called back due to a penalty on Lewis.
  • He gave up 1 pass for about 7 yards where the receiver had to tip-toe the sideline to make it.
  • He allowed a couple of short completions to the underneath receiver when playing zone but that was because he had to stay back and cover the receiver behind him initially.
  • He was good coming up against the run.
His only bad play was a penalty for illegal contact where he collided with the WR.
- It was only a 5 yard penalty and not PI but it nullified a sack.

When not playing CB I think Worley is better at Safety than Thompson.

Side Note 1:
- Brandon Carr played 3 snaps. He was very good on the snap that I saw on review breaking up a would be TD.
- I would consider playing Carr as 1 of the top 3 CBs with Lewis on the bench.

Side Note 2:
- The Seahawks punted on the possession after Pollard downed the ball at the 1 and Zeke was tackled for a Safety.
- I prefer a Safety in that situation over punting from deep in the endzone.

Wasn't he the one, that let Metcalf run past him, to catch the winning TD? If I am correct, he did not react until Metcalf ran past.

Why run in that situation? Elliott wasn't doing anything and you hand the ball off at the 1 inch line. Should have thrown a quick pass to buy a few yards. 8 guys in the box all within 2 yards of the LOS. Just another stupid call.

That was Thompson.

Who stinks. Saying Worley is better is an understatement. Zach Martin might be a better safety than Thompson.

EDIT: Confusion might be that Dallas looked to be in zone. Worley was lined up on Metcalf but passed him off when he and I think Lockett crossed........... Worley went with Lockett, Metcalf continued across the field and Thompson was slow to react and by the time he knew what was coming, Metcalf was basically by him.

No.

It was #23 (Thompson) and #25 (Woods) on that play.

Worley was in coverage on the far sideline.

Okay, Thompson stinks. Only in the pro's do I see defense players, with their feet set, waiting for the offense to come to them. This defense does not attack.

Worley was a great signing. Highly underrated last year, and has been quietly performing well the last three weeks.

I also agree that Carr is likely a better option than Thompson and should play more and more as he become familiar with the playbook. I still think Thompson has a role as our box safety and is probably our best option. We just need to reduce the scope of what he’s asked to do.

I like Worley. He is the classic guy who is a solid “football player”. But just lacks great athleticism.

he is a solid piece in the secondary. Just not a guy you want being one of your top players.

Safety kills momentum and allowed Seattle 2 points.

I know Lewis is popular in this forum but for the likes of me I don't think he's that good.

Too slow, too small and too grabby.

Last years game against Buffalo showed us how bad he really was.

It's so hard to find anything positive about this "so far" record setting (and not in a good way) defense. It can only go up. I am not sure it can get worse...LOL

I thought Lewis would be a good Nickel CB if he received enough playing time but he played 55% of the snaps last season and was not good.

His short area quickness had been a strong point but on 1 play in Seattle he got out-quicked by TE Jacob Hollister.

He did have an injury that kept him out for game 1. That might be a lingering issue.
