Davante Adams trade to Dallas rumors

Dallas is always a media potential landing spot for any & all players.

We are 3 games into the season and this stuff is filling the rumor mills. This one is as ridiculous as Atlanta trading Pitts.

However, if LV continues to lose and is out of it by the trade deadline, this is a trade I could see happening, just not to Dallas. The problem is his contract. The Raiders would eat about $23 million in dead CAP money and take a CAP hit in 2024.

The team that takes him would pay his $16 million salary in 2024 and a $510k per game roster bonus. If he plays 16 of 17 games, he will get $24 million. In 2025 he is due $35 million in salary and $510k per game roster bonus which means he will almost certainly be cut before then. No one is going to pay a 33 year old WR $43 million.

Anyone who takes him in a trade is taking him for maybe a season and a half which means his trade value is very limited. A team in the running desperate for a WR may consider giving up a 4th or 5th round pick for Adams. I could see him playing the remainder of 2023 and being released in early 2024 too.
