I agree that Akers would be nice, but JJ is not going to throw in the towel with Buehler yet. Right or wrong, it is too soon for him to admit he may have overvalued what Buehler brings to the table. Love the kick-offs, but that doesn't overshadow the inconsistency on FG's

Hasn't he already taken a step in that direction by the signing of Kris Brown?

Sign Akers and let them battle it out in Training Camp and the pre season.

Would love to bring in Akers for TC. I MIGHT even be fine with carrying two kickers on the roster. Let Akers handle 40 and under which Buehler clearly is no where near consistent enough, and let Buehler kick the bombs and kickoffs.

I wish jerry would just admit the buehler project is a bust. How he can keep a fg kicker who's missed an extra point and fg's within 30 yds is beyond me.

Akers did miss 2 very makeable FGs in that playoff game against Green Bay. He makes both of those kicks, Green Bay loses in all liklihood.


With that being said, I would take him in a heartbeat of freaking Buehler.

We do need to carry 2 kickers, both FG/KO have been a thorn in the side of Cowboys for many years now. Bite the bullet and fill 2 roster spots and be done with it.

Lost 2 games because of Beuhler...didn't we win a few because of him too.....what was it that Mickey spagnola said, if he would have made 2 of his misses, it would have put him at 80% accuracy. Last time I heard, 80% in the NFL is pretty darn good. In the upper ranks.
