He's appealing but he's only facing a 4 game suspension

It could be an automatic 4 game suspension. May also depend on whether he was already in the NFL drug program.

He has been suspended before for drugs, I think, but not for roids.

what a waste of talent...this guy had a ton of potential and all he wanted to do was be a body builder.

But under the NFL drug policy, what would be the difference? I would think they're both illegal under those guidelines. I'm just curious what the fallout will be.

I think he completed the program for the first offense so basically he was starting over.

Oh ok. I guess he's been in the league long enough to do that. But that's the height of stupidity to get busted all over again and subject yourself to the madness of being drug tested 10 times a month.

Leon Lett is the poster boy for that mentality

Geez, this also probably busts the rep of Boston's Olympic-athlete trainer Charles Polian.

David Boston faces possible suspension
Jan. 30, 2003
The Sports Network

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Arizona Cardinals wide receiver David Boston faces a possible suspension by the NFL after he pleaded no contest to charges of driving under the influence.

The 24-year-old Boston was sentenced on Wednesday to 10 days in jail. However, all but one of those days will be suspended after he completes a drug screening.

Boston was charged last March for DUI. The Arizona Republic reports a motorist noticed Boston driving erratically and called police while following the wide receiver to his home. Boston then tested positive for cocaine and marijuana, according to Phoenix police.

Boston, who will become an unrestricted free agent next month, played in just eight games last season due to knee and ankle injuries. He had 32 receptions for 512 yards and one touchdown.

A first-round draft pick from Ohio State, Boston enjoyed a breakout season in 2001 and recorded career-highs with 98 receptions for a franchise-record 1,598 yards and eight touchdowns.

Um...I think he was just average before he took those......Think back in arizona.....his rookie season...nothing special....then BOOMMmmmmmmmmm.....hello 1600 yards......he may have been taking them in college and it took a year to improve his speed and strength to nfl level.....

Or maybe I totally missed his name on draft day....I dunno...

He's always been a top talent. The think that makes me think is the fact he has been on IR with an injury. Why would he appeal? The is no reason for it unless its a false positive. The appeal doesnt help him not miss games... He is on IR the appeal will be heard before next season so why would he appeal? Maybe he was taking something for the injury that could be against the abuse policy unknowingly? I dont know just seems kinda fishy.
