Maybe David (Chuck Norris) Buehler should be quaking in his clets. It seems Mat McBriar was holding for the rookie today and not Buehler. The rookie is making all of his kicks and ol' Chuck is not.

Jerry said they could keep to kickers, but with the rule change the previous year and if Dan Bailey can get anywhere near the end zone that would be stupid. (providing he proves to be better than Buehler).

Two kickers are stupid unless your kickoff specialist guarantees touch backs and your normal kicker absolutely can't kick a touchback.

It's a damn shame that Nick Folk didn't work out while he was here. Prior to the injury, the man was money. :banghead:

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Bailey is our kicker.

He's not just some scrub camp leg -- he did win the Groza last year.

And that's why we will keep two kickers.

As much as I'm disappointed with his accuracy I can't help but hope he can pull it together because the depth on his kicks are just incredible.

I really hope we don't keep two kickers. Such a waste of a roster spot.

And how many Heisman Trophy winners go on to be the best...:D

Quite a few busts / or didn't live up to the hype.

I got a question about kickers and training camp. Why do they have so few fg attempts in camp. 10 kicks each so far. What do they do the rest of the time?

Yes, that's what I heard as well. He struggles to get kickoffs to the 10 yard line.

I dunno but for some reason the front office loves buehler.

Dont see him going anywhere.

I believe it has to do with leg / knee stress. Have you ever tried a field goal. I kicked a 30 yard FG that barely made it. I swore I almost kicked my leg off! :laugh2:

Note: Prior to that attempt, I had never tried one before.

My last attempt was an extra point attempt at the new Cowboys Stadium which I also made. ;)

I think Bailey is the real deal. I think he will be our field goal kicker this year with The Man Who Eats Children as the kickoff specialist. If we let Bailey go, he will make a team somewhere. He is a legitimate player.

Not only is this a significant exaggeration, but Buehler is quite literally one of the best kickoff men in league history. Even as a pure KOS he will contribute significantly more to the team over the course of the season then generic "#6 on the depth chart" cornerback.

I like touchbacks. I like automatic field goals. If they end up deciding to keep both so we can have both, I'm happy.

I'm in the same boat, especially if Buehler could also double as a gunner at any point, as I believe he dabbled with as a rookie.

Watching practice today, Bailey looked like the far superior kicker during their limited sample size. The ball just leaves his foot in a purer fashion, and he doesn't seem to have that shank that Buehler produces once every fourth or fifth kick.

They're only counting the ones where the special teams lined up and kicked, I think. The kickers usually practice on their own with a holder or that little holding device prior to the team portion of practice, though I'm not in SA and can't verify this speculation is true.

I still think we shot ourselves in the foot with the way his injury situation was handled.
