Back up QB - it's a pressing need. It might not be as pressing as Safety, Nose Tackle or MLB, but after watching the alternatives this season, the Cowboy's need a player who can, at least, put the ball in our weapons hands with moderate scrambling ability, considering our OL. That have been said, I just read an article that states David Carr is an unrestricted Free Agent. Now, can anybody think of a better canidate to feel the aforementioned role rookie or free agent?

Actually I can think of plenty of them. I think Carr is forever ruined by all the sacks he took in Houston. Guy was a live tackling dummy.

No thanks. His postgame comments after the opening night win over Dallas included "ive always hated Dallas." More of a cancer than TO, if you ask me..

Wasn't aware of those comments...but I'd still take him over what we currently have...

Funny because he has said many time when he was here in Houston that he followed the Cowboys growing up and his parents were big time Cowboy fans:

David's parents, who were born near Dallas, grew up huge Cowboys fans. So strong was their allegiance, they gave youngest son Derek the middle name of “Dallas.”

So maybe he was saying he's always hated his brother.:D

He wore #8 because of Aikman. I have heard local interviews when he was in Houston about how he was a Cowboy fan growing up as was his folks

what is he supposed to say? he's the franchise QB drafted #1 overall and just beat the instate rival. he can't say i'm a big fan and hope to play for them one day. my guess is a little showmanship...no big deal IMO.

id go after Leftwich, Fitzpatrick or Orlovsky if we are looking for a veteran backup. I used to like Batch, but he hasn't been able to stay healthy for the past 2-3 seasons. We can't afford to have our primary backup living on IR.

no thanks. Carr is done. He is always looking at the pressure coming and not downfield. He would do no better than Johnson.

Besides, I don't want my QBs wearing white dinner gloves with greased back hair on the sidelines.

The last thing you want if your Oline is underperforming is David Carr.

They dont call it "David Carr Syndrome" for nothing.

A QB who takes his eyes off the field and stares at the rush is not going to get the job done.

As old as Kurt Warner is, I'd still take him over MANY potential backups out there. His time in Arena football has helped him when dealing with a rush and getting the ball out quickly.....his problem is protecting the ball when getting hit, though.....but he is STILL showing that he can get it done.

If AZ lets him go after this year, I'd welcome him as the backup. He is a great mentor of younger QB's starting over him and he doesn't let it frustrate him from what the public can see.

Completion percentage under 60 per cent for his career, 70 ints to 64 TDs, 263 sacks in 85 games played (3.1 per game), career quarterback rating of 74.9...

Thanks, I'll pass...
