It was interesting to see how the Eagles kept letting David Irving's aggressiveness work against him on those running plays - Collinsworth kept pointing it out. I was pretty disappointed that the coaches didn't inform him or he didn't listen and change it up.

I will be interested to see if it happens again this week. We cannot expose our LBs like that, even if Lee were available.

How was he exposing the LBs? They were running away from him.

Thats like his coach, Leon Lett played.

Irving being the back field isn't a bad thing, its bad when our LBs stink and can't make a tackle cause Irving just forced the RB in a predictable place.

Should be easy for a good LB to play off of it, but we have Lee and noone else.

Well they weren't really having to account that much for him - he wasn't occupying space and to me it seemed just huge lanes created resulting in some long runs...and our LBs were easily eaten by linemen because of it...did you see something differently? Maybe i'm not describing it well...

They never ran through the hole he created by falling down. His man pulled and they were running behind their LT.

You are correct. They ran the trap several times at him. The eagles linemen got a clean release to the second level, swallowed up the linebackers, and it was off to the races for the rb.

Greg Cosell was on the Herd yesterday and said that the Eagles kept trapping him and did this 5-6 times in the game and each time time was a big play . This was his 'one big play' for the week

Our stupid coaches couldn't see it because "you dont make adjustments in the game". Ive heard it from CZ homers for the last 2 days

Our fans are just as moronic as our coaching staff who think that 'adjustments ' should be made after the game once you have been beaten like a rented mule

Usually the guys with longer arms tend to put a little too much weight on their toes and not their heels. It's a lot harder to pay attention to then most would think, having played on the D line myself with fairly long arms. It can be corrected for sure but when emotions are high and/or fatigue sets in it's easy to go back to what's comfortable. The good thing is that this has been his style since day one and it has worked in his favor for the most part. Giving him a slight edge to get those long arms underneath the pads of the guard. The Eagles didn't really game plan on taking advantage of that trait of his, at least I don't think so because they have been running that trap blocking scheme all year. The coaches just need to tell him to calm down and keep his eyes up. I'm not worried at all that this will be exploited more in the future.

Some of these things are not "in game" fixes, the player has to work on it. Game to game, year to year, players have their weaknesses exposed. The better players are able to learn and improve on their weaknesses, others become backups or disappear altogether(RGIII)

It allowed that OL a clean release to the LBs instead of being tied up blocking Irving. Jaylon is a disaster when an OL gets to the 2nd level quickly and forces Jaylon to decide which side of that OL to be on. Jaylon tends to choose the side that is already covered by the other LB.

We don’t need a real 1-Tech, nothing to see here...

I will respectfully disagree that this couldn't have been an in game fix.

How on earth is this not an in-game fix. It’s a very easy, minor adjustment that’s as simple as slantin your line different directions to keep the OL off balance. It’s just another glaring example of the ineptitude of our coaches.
