David Irving Instagram

He says he “thrives at times like this”

Some people who grow up around drama can start to view chaos as normal. When life is going good they distrust it and get restless. It’s almost like happiness & success = boredom. They find a way to stir their own pot.

I suspect we’ve all met a few people like this. Most of us have self-sabatoging elements in our personality—of one kind of another.

People can grow and change. I’m rooting for the kid.

We should look at him in the same sense we do Sean Lee..

Monster when he's able to play, but definitely should NOT be relied upon.

For differing reasons, obviously, but we're lucky to get half-a-season out of both of those guys.

He's not comparable to Sean Lee. He's comparable to Rolando McClain. Insane athleticism and ability when on the field, but self-inflicted wounds off it.

My hope is just that we can get a deep playoff run out of Irving's 12 games+playoffs this season before he moves on. Somebody is going to pay him a lot of money only to watch him waste his potential, and I don't want it to be the Cowboys.

Except he isn’t thriving. He’s cost himself millions of dollars.

Premise and effect is still the same - loss of talent on the field. One from injuries, the other from stupidity. But you're right, hopefully he can be healthy and available for the stretch run.

I don't think they should be compared similarly at all.

McClain was pure addict...can’t help himself...and was completely consumed by addiction. McClain will spend most of his life in prison...or die young...or both.

I don’t see Irving like that. He’s quirky and has some bent views and habits that hopefully he’ll get straightened out.

Dak and Zeke are the face of the team.

Nobody but Cowboys fans care about David Irving.

We just need to get that guy on the field and forget about him.

Having a few knuckleheads on your team is fine as long as they aren't the face of your franchise.

Zeke is a knucklehead so we'll have to deal with that but Dak is the face of the franchise.

There is no comparing Sean Lee to Irving, unless Sean Lee contracts TB or something like that. One is good for the team. The other is markedly not.
