Waste of money. He wont be back.
don't want him. Stay home. Our chemistry is too honed in. He's a dumb player...we have some pretty high FB IQ guys performing well and I don't wanna foul that up. Gregory is the only exception, only because the talent has outweighed the idiocracy lol. He played great against Seattle.
I would Rather have Collins and Woods out there.
Same at this point.
Irving is an absolute beast. I'd love it if he lined up next game. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see him.
Is he a beast? In the two games he played this year, he had 4 tackles and 1 sack. In 2017 he had 7 sacks in 8 games, but 4 of those came in 2 games, in the other 6 he had only 3 sacks. Don't see he's had enough great games to say he's to that level.
Would be nice to see him available for the Rams game, but even if he suits up he's going to be so out of shape he'll be able to play in only a few snaps...
He's def a force to be reckoned with. I have no idea what sort of physical shape he's in, but he can't be in game shape at this point. I think he can be effective subbing. I don't think we'll see him, though.
There’s a couple of ways to look at David Irving’s Cowboys career.
He’s played in 37 games and registered 12.5 sacks, which gives him a @3sks per-game average. That’s very good.
However, he’s been on the roster 4 seasons, so those numbers average out to @9 games played per-season, with an average of @3sks per-season. That’s below mediocre.
Spin it however you like, but IMHO the Cowboys haven’t gotten near their money/time-investment’s worth from having David Irving on the roster.
I don't disagree. If the FO feels like his custody issue is resolved and his personal life is in order, I think they'll try to get him on a minimum deal. Not sure anyone what wants to mess with him. He was cheap before this year. Even at $2m, he's not exactly breaking the bank.
I’d be happy if they could keep him cheap, but at some point, DI is gonna have to become a dependable contributor at the very least. Otherwise, he isn’t worth even the vet’s minimum or a roster spot.
Irving cant get onto the practice field because he wont get treatment. I don't want a dumb player like that. Ten cent brain and a billion dollar talent. Its a shame.Parcells said it best about dumb players.
Let me give you a Darkhorse..if we should lose a couple coaches in the offseason. I would strongly entertain bringing in Mike Singletary as our linebackers coach. Need I say more? lol...WOW!! Then God Forbid, if we lose Richard, lets bring back Eberflus or promote Ben Bloom to DC. Granny Marinelli is all but retired when the season is over.
yea, I don't see the appeal in giving him playing time over some one who worked hard all year
Why would Eberflus come back here to be the DC when he is the DC of Indy?
How do you know that he isn't getting treatment?
I never get what all of the hostility towards him is about. Nope I wouldn't hire him, but he's pretty darn good when he's on the field
How long does it take for an ankle sprain to heal??
