David Irving

For those asking why Irving doesn't play more. He's coming back from concussion, plus I don't think he's completely over his groin strain suffered in the preseason. Cowboys Break said he was limping pretty heavily after the game yesterday. I think they probably have him on a snap count.

Well the bye week comes at a great time heal up and get ready for the igglets.

Irving listed as character issue for taking part in student protest and ripping stop sign out of the ground hurt his draft stock. Abrams needs a raise and promotion.

Not sure how this passed so many scouts - this is pure strength if I've ever heard it!

why are we not playing this guy more?!?!

Sorry if someone touched on this before.. I was watching the game with another coach (defensive line coach) and asked him why David Irving isn't playing more, since it seems like he impacts the game every time he is out there. He was saying it's probably because Irving won't or isn't doing the little things that coaches ask of the defensive line: gap control, split double teams, etc. He says Irving is probably a kid who can be a beast in a limited role because he isn't being asked to do too much.

Now, he is just talking d-line in general, no specific info on Irving or anything, but this made some sense to me.

He got after it in a small amount of time. We've seen a couple of guys on the D-Line have great individual games and yesterday it was Irving. Eventually they will all play great together, I'm hoping. I know that Rodgers had all day to throw but Irving made those plays when they needed him too. I love the defense. How can you not like the No Name Defense? That's what a lot of people are saying anyway but they are starting to see some legit players. The secondary is becoming a strength and the D-line has got some guys like Irving that are starting to come around. I'm enjoying all of this

I'm always hesitant to crown guys after small sample sizes. Guys like Jeremy Mincey and George Selvie have put together good games before that had us thinking they were serviceable options.

But 3 FF and a pass deflection in one quarter? Takes a special player to do all of that in 15 minutes.

How many qb pressures did he get on those 19 snaps?? Coudn't care less about the fumbles he caused they probably won't happen again.
