67 receptions, 704 yards receiving, 11.0 average, 4 TDs

What an unbelievable player. A few big games in the receiving department, and he may have 1,000 yards receiving and rushing. I believe Faulk was the last player to do that.

I would say, if that happens, he's a great MVP candidate. That is too rare to overlook.

Palmer relies very heavily on Johnson, which has taken a lot of their explosiveness away, and also accounts for DJ's outstanding numbers. Palmer's grown content going underneath, rather than stretching the field, which is what made AZ so dangerous in years past.

The only person to blame for Palmer's performance this year is himself. The way he is playing is how he has played since late last season and his huge choke in both the Green Bay and Carolina games.

Actually, I think he'd be having a Fitzpatrick-like year without Johnson. Johnson is making that offense tick right now, Palmer is finished.

He would have been if his team was doing better.

But I agree, nobody is really having a better year...maybe almost as good or close, but not better.

There were a few around here wanting us to take this guy last year. Dude went in the 3rd round...but just before we picked. Would have to have traded up or used the Gregory pick at the bottom of round 2.

At least things worked out great with Zeke!

Since Bosa didn't quite fall to us at 4 (and we may have not taken him anyway) we can't really look back and say we could have both David Johnson and Joey Bosa instead of Zeke and Gregory.

David Johnson is a beast. I had no idea how good he was until yesterday. Without him, their running and passing games were anemic and too inconsistent. He's their team MVP, IMO.

Sadly, unless AZ strikes gold with a QB, he could have a great career and no chance at a SB. Fitz is almost done. Floyd is probably gone next year. OL needs some work.

Zeke could reach 1500 and 500. I wonder how often that has been accomplished.

Johnson is the player all future kids who want to play rb should pay attention to.

He has it all...love watching his patience, jump cuts...vision ...all of it.

Special talent.

:p

I looked at few of the usual suspects up
-----
Chris Johnson had a year that'll be hard to top
In 2009:
2006 yards rushing
503 yards receiving

.....
Roger Craig
In 1988
1502 rushing
534 receiving
....
close but no cigar were:
Marshall Faulk....
5 times he went over 1300 yards rushing and 700 yards reciving, but not the 1500/500. pretty awesome though.
1999 was crazy with 1381 rushing and 1048 receiving.

Thurman Thomas
1992: 1487 rushing, 626 receiving...13 yards shy
came very close again in 1991

Edgerrin James
2004: 1548 rushing, 483 receiving
...so 17 yards shy.

...
I assume the best shot at it in the league today would be LeVeon Bell, Zeke, and Johnson.

Herschel Walker
In 1988
1514 rushing
505 receiving

LaDainian Tomlinson
In 2003
1645 rushing
725 receiving

In 2006
1815 rushing
508 receiving

It's been done 19 times by 15 players.

Ladainian Tomlinson (2003, 2006), Tiki Barber (2004-5), Priest Holmes (2001-2), Edgerrin James (1999-2000) did it twice.
Also:
William Andrews, ATL, 1983
James Wilder, TB, 1984
Marcus Allen, LA Raiders, 1985
Herschel Walker, DAL, 1988
Roger Craig, SF, 1988
Garrison Hearst, SF, 1998
Deuce McAllister, NO, 2003
Steven Jackson, STL, 2006
Chris Johnson, TEN, 2009 (2000/500)
Arian Foster, HOU, 2010
LeSean McCoy, PHI, 2013

Only Marshall Faulk (STL, 1999) and Roger Craig (SF, 1985) reached 1000/1000.

All I know is he is killing it for my FF team.

Who has the most combined in one season.

I guess those two are in the conversation.

Did anyone top Chris Johnson's 2509?

Nope,

There have been 63 player-seasons with >2000 yards from scrimmage. The leaders:
1. CJ2K, 2009: 2509
2. Faulk 1999: 2429
3. Barber 2005: 2390
4. Tomlinson 2003: 2370
5. Sanders 1997: 2358

13. DeMarco Murray 2014: 2261
33. Emmitt Smith 1995: 2148
50. Emmitt Smith 1992: 2048
62. Herschel Walker 1988: 2019
