He was the consensus #1 OLB in the draft—an explosive edge rusher—before tearing his Achilles at his pro day.

Is this guy made for the Cowboys or what? An elite talent that will slip because of an injury. Would you roll the dice @24 or hope he’s there at our pick in the second round?

The book on Ojabo was he needed the most work, most development out of the top 6 Edge rushers. Now coming off of major injury that usually takes 2 seasons for a position that needs burst is very risky. He will get drafted, but rather another team take the chance.

Ojabo has elite traits. His get off and bend is as good as anyone in the class. His ability to seal the edge as a run defender needs work. But he could turn out to be the best pure pass rusher in this draft. 24 is too high for me after the injury. But if anyone thinks that the Jones boys won’t pull the trigger in round 2 if available hasn’t been paying attention.

I am concerned that torn Achilles will hurt his explosiveness. Tough injury for a pass rusher. I don’t know why he was working out so hard on his pro day. To bad.

Real tough break, Tyrone Crawford had the same injury and just was never the same.

The Dallas Cowboys would have flag him medical and take him off the board. The Arlington Jonesboys will draft him and tell everyone "we got the steal of the draft."

An Achilles is an absolutely brutal injury for a speed rusher, and there's a decent chance that Ojabo will never be the same guy again.

1st round is out for me, 2nd round is out too. I feel terrible for Ojabo having millions of dollars disappear in a blink, but drafting him is a risk the Cowboys can't afford to take.

Not 1 mention of Cam Akers? Im no doctor, but seems possible that advancements are being made in the surgery/rehab process and Akers is the 1st example. Much like when Adrian Peterson came back at what seemed like an impossible timeline from an acl surgery…now 8 months after acl surgery is very possible when it was at best a 16 month injury 25 years ago.
Obviously everyone is different and heals differently…but there are certainly plenty of stories of an achillies not being a career killer. Kevin Durant tore his at a much older age and seems like he didn’t lose a step.

With ALL that said, no he’s not in consideration at 24. But 2nd round is a whole different story

Cannot touch him this draft. We need at leastv2 starters this draft, we have boxed ourselves into a LG in one of our first 2 picks - preferably the first. And possibly a DE or WR. (My dream of Travis Jones will die as always).
We cannot let Jerry draft player who will need a red shirt year with our #56, if he's still on the board.

Akers averaged less than 3 yards per carry when he came back. I'd hardly call that a success story yet.

Nobody questions whether Ojabo will play again. Just how good he will be after the injury. To me he's undraftable in the first 3 rounds.

Personally I wouldn’t take him in the 2nd round, but this team has not had an issue taking players in a similar situation in that round. I would be nervous if he’s still sitting there when we pick in the 2nd round.
