I just read an article on MSN by David Whitley of Fox Sports titled "Romo is ordinary." Interesting article that will stir up quite a controversy. I didn't get a link but it was on the front page of msn sports.
David Whitley said:For sure, he's had a great career for a guy nobody drafted out of Eastern Illinois. His defenders can trot out all sorts of glowing stats. Romo's career QB rating is 95.6, the sixth-best in NFL history.
Of course, modern-day passing has rendered that stat bogus. Six of the top seven quarterbacks in history are currently playing.
Romo's rating is 12 points better than Roger Staubach's. It's 14 better than Troy Aikman's. Who would Dallas fans prefer as their quarterback?
Until, Romo starts winning in January, he will always have his critics. That's the way it is. Whether the arguments makes sense or not, they will always be there.
Didn't they have a headline saying no QB could win with this team last week?
It's all about ratings and website visits. Romo equals both. He leads the team to the playoffs by winning the next two and this same guy will be talking about how Romo has gotten them there despite bad coaching or whatever.
That was USA Today.

Axe to grind. Doesn't even mention defense that doesn't make people punt in two games already.
