Davis to IR, Abanikanda called up from practice squad

I expected what the title said not what they did. I figured sign someone else to the 53 (not necessarily a RB) and call up Abanikanda for this week and then figure it out. Worries me a little (not too much but a little) if we go with what we have in house. But, let's see how Demercado does. The other odd thing is Stephen said in one of the interviews (doesn't mean it was what was going to happen) that Demercado was going to be inactive this week - something along the lines of going from inactive to the #2 guy. So I guess they don't trust him enough to go with just he and Javonte like they were with Davis and Luepke cannot fill that role - been there, done that with that experiment...

If he said that, I'm sure it was a numbers thing since Luepke would be considered the emergency RB. Not sure they brought up Abanikanda because the plan is any different.

Frankly, I thought we might go with Demercado as the No. 2 instead of Davis in the actual games because he brings a little more speed to the position. Davis seemed more like the direct replacement for Williams if he was lost to injury to me, not the guy we wanted to give snaps as a changeup to Williams.
