Dawkins' interception?

Did anyone else think that the ball hit the ground on Dawkins' interception? I thought that we were going to challenge that play, but the announcers didn't say anything about it and the coaches didn't seem to make a move to throw the red flag. He had his hands on the ball, but I thought the ball made contact with the ground and he didn't make a "football move".

I also noticed that Drew's QB sneak came nowhere near the first down marker.

Let's just call it even and move on.

Agreed. Those two plays are almost a wash. I was just surprised that we didn't challenge a game-changing play like the INT....

I couldn't see it hit the ground although you never know. It was a great play.

The Drew sneak definitely was well short. I was praying Reid wouldn't throw the red flag.

I thought it was a clean catch. I watched it again on my Tivo, and it still looked like a clean catch.

I thought the game was fair in terms of officiating overall.

What bothered me the most is that the Philly blitzers were jumping the snap count towards the end of the game, and were offsides a few times. I watched it in slow motion, and roughly three offsides penalties could have been called, but were not.

At the very least, we could have changed the snap count.

I think it was clean too.

If I'm not mistaken, I called that an unexpected punt by Bledsoe. His effort to improve field position.

Another play that Bob Sturm questioned on the Ticket today was on the fumbled punt snap where McBriar first recovered the ball and was pretty much on his knees and the Philly player came in and crushed him and the ball flies into the air. Couldn't he have been ruled down by contact and saved about 5-10 yards?

I was furious about that. And you know what else they never showed that play again. Home cookiong. That was a definite personal foul.

Something else I was wondering about. Though it didn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, I thought McBriar was down on the muffed punt. He was covering the ball, the Eagles' guy came in and speared him and the ball came flying out. They gained 10 yards after that, and that could have been the difference between a TD and a FG, who knows.

Well darn it BlueStar, you beat me to it.

I was really hoping he'd pick it up, try to punt, and get hammered.

Oh I know... actually I thought if he had picked it up clean on the first bounce, he may have been able to get it off. But it wasn't to be... instead I was hearing clown music in the background as I watched it. Ya da dada dada da da da da
