Honestly whats there to say? We're the worst team in football. They arnt even competitive on the field. I'm convinced the 1989 Cowboys (AFTER the Herschel trade) would kick this team's butts.

1) Somewhere down the road, Jones is going to admit he blew it after the Baltimore and Philly debacles in 2008. It took several seasons, but Jones eventually admitted he should have parted ways with Barry Switzer right after they won the Super Bowl vs Pittsburgh. I like Wade, he is a nice guy. At one time he was an outstanding 3-4 defensive coach. But he's utterly clueless right now. Hindsight is 20-20, but he should have been let go after the Philly game in 2008.

2) If Leonard Davis or Mark Colombo start another game here, I think I'll hurl. I bet if we cut them today, both of them would have a hard time finding immediate employment. They are just awful, run and pass.

3) Fundamentally this may be the worst team in our 50 years of existance. I've never seen such piss-poor blocking & tackling.

4) I thought Jon Kitna played well last week and after he came in vs NYG. I thought he looked awful last night. Looked like a rookie most of the time, locking in one one guy or side of the field, and most plays he was totally oblivious to the blitz or where it was coming from. The OL was just terrible, but he compounded the problem. Threw a couple of horrible picks, and badly missed a wide open Miles Austin for an easy score. McGee will definitely get some PT this season and probably have a number of starts later in the year.

5) I cant believe I see a thread where people are actually complaining about who the interim coach might be. I see posts saying DeMarcus Ware is a 2nd rate player andmore of that garbage of his sacks dont matter. I see posts saying Austin should have never got a contract extension. I still see non-sense about Tashard Choice being the best RB and how he could jump start the offense. The only thing dumber than our team is some of our fans.

6) Worst run in 11-12 quarters ever for our defense, thats rock bottom. There's just no excuse for it either. Some players are still giving all they have, but there are a couple guys who are just useless and a couple more who are absolutely washed up. Guys like Ball, Sensabaugh, Brooking, Olshansky and James should be replaced immediately. Mike Jenkins should be read the riot act about his play on that endzone non tackle and if he does it again, he should be benched the rest of the season. Give other guys chances now. There's nothing good that can become of playing the guys listed.

7) Offensively, Kitna would get a few more starts, unless McGee plays and got hurt. Colombo and Davis should probably be outright released today. Niether of them can play and niether of them have a future here. I'd cut Barber too, not because he sux or doesnt try, but because he isnt part of the future either and is not as good as the two guys he is taking reps from. he could however help a team making a playoff run.

8) As for interim coach, seriously people. Who cares who it is? I still cant believe I saw a thread where people were complaining about it. They should name Garrett interim coach, but for some reason I think it might be DeCamillis. Have no idea why, its just a guess.

9) Dez Bryant is just amazing. Might have the best hands I have ever seen, and he has an absolute warrior mentality. There has to be a ton of teams kicking themselves over passing on this guy. I think his attitude will be infectious to the team, alot like Irvin's was. With him and Austin, we have an unbelievable WR duo for years to come.

10) Nobody does anything but pile on the guy, but Martellus Bennett deserves a little mention for those 2 or 3 catches late in the game and the effort he gave. I think on one of them it took half the GB defense to get him on the ground as he fought for a first down. And the guy busts his tail as a blocker. I still like him on this roster. He's definitely nowhere near the problem some other guys are.

11) Nice game by McCann as a returner, but he was terrible on the field in coverage. Doesnt say much for AOA's return skills though when this guys waltzes in off the practice squad, gets a couple days of reps at KR and then averages almost 30 yds a return. Got hosed on the fumble, but dumb coaching was to blame for that since they were out of timeouts and couldnt challenge.

12) Speaking of challenges, Wade's decision to challenge that 1st down run on the GL has to go down as one of the stuipidest moves ever. It was either going to be a TD or 2nd and inches on the GL. Our defense has shown no ability to stop the run or the pass, did he really believe we were gonna stuff them on 3 straight plays? Ultimately it cost us the 7pts on McCann's fumble play.

This isnt rocket science here. Just go out and hire a competent staff, run a real training camp and make some obvious tweaks to the roster. We can be good next year. But the right people have gotta be put into place here.

Starting at the top, and if 'Jerk in the Box' is going to run things the way he has been, he's not going to GET the 'right people'. He'll get those with limited options or someone desperate for a head-coaching job.

And the end results will be the same.

I agree with most of what you say. I will say that I thought Bradie James played well last night. He hustles and is in on a ton of tackles.

I do not understand why this team never plays zone D. Collinsworth was talking about it all through the game on how easy it was to see the coverages and Rodgers just picked them apart.

Not only is there a lack of effort but we have so many missed assignments. Felix, Witten, Davis, etc... That is coaching. Period.

I know the DB's sucked last night but there was little to no pressure from the front seven. Ware and Spencer routinely just ran up the field leaving Rodgers running room or an unobstructed view of his receivers.

I would like to see the yound kids come in and get a chance to play. Find out if they are worth keeping around or not. Sam Young at RT would be a start and anyone in for Davis - his play has dropped of dramatically. He misses assignments and get's manhandled by much smaller players. I would like to see Church in there for Sensi, McCann for Scandrick.

Dez is a stud. I think the sky is the limit for this kid. Not to mention he plays hard. That is itself is a reason to celebrate.

Are you guys sure you want Garrett to be the head coach here? His offense made no adjustments and looked lost and out of synch the entire night. That offensive performance falls on his shoulders.

This was the most embarassing performance I have seen in watching this team for 33 years. Deplorable. You learn a lot about a teams charcter in times like this and I think it is obvious that this team has very, very little.

Regardless of the CBA I would try and bring in a new head coach right now and let him evaluate players and get a chance to work with these guys. I know that history says that is not a good idea but I do not see anyone on the coaching staff that should be kept. Decamilis - yes he is insirational, blah, blah, blah, but his coverage teams have been terrible. It seems like every game someone on the other team brings the ball out to the 50, or even worse, takes it to the house.

It is time to clean house - players and coaches. I was thinking a new coach and a few player personnel teaks could do the trick but this team has some serious issues.

Tough times for Cowboys fans.

David, you actually sat through that mess last night? I turned it off after 14-0. First game I refused to watch or missed in 25 years. Dexter and Boradwalk Empire were much better then watching that garbage.

Yeah Bradie is one of the few players who is playing like he still cares out there and getting his job done.

I do not understand why this team never plays zone D. Collinsworth was talking about it all through the game on how easy it was to see the coverages and Rodgers just picked them apart.

As someone said in another thread...Wade didn't suddenly forget 30+ years of football in a matter of weeks/months. To play different zones and exotic coverages, you have to have confidence the players wont blow assignments. As we've seen this season, this has got to be the dumbest team ever and surely doesn't give anyone confidence they can handle much mentally. Not to totally absolve Wade of blame here, but i think the players forced his hand here...

Like I said, if he does something similar to when he hired Parcells, and ceded control, we'll be fine. I dont care that he calls himself "President and GM", he was not making the football decisions when Parcells was here.

And he can still be involved. He does get some things right. He does what alot of owners in various sports refuse to do, which is spend money to try to get and keep good players.

I laughed after it was 28-0 and we had no TO's. This whole staff is way over it's head:bang2:

.

Its not that I think James doesnt care, its that he is an older guy who probably doesnt have a role here in the future. He is better than Brooking certainly.

At a minimum, he shouldnt be out there on pass downs unless he is going to be a blitzer.

To be honest, I would rather see players getting benched then an Interim Head Coach being named.

If you bring in an Interim Coach but don't do anything to punish the players for their lazy and uninspired effort then it makes no difference.

Also, I have no idea what is going on with Jason Witten. I think he is a good player but he is just not playing like the guy we are used to seeing.

We'll see. In my mind, I have zeroed in on one candidate I feel can fix this current mess, and that's Cowher. And I feel that it will take significant change to get him. And if that doesn't happen, I forsee more failure.

And he can still be involved. He does get some things right. He does what alot of owners in various sports refuse to do, which is spend money to try to get and keep good players.

He gets plenty right, but when he steadfastly and stubbornly refuses to cede certain levels of control, he undermines all the right things he does.

I'm kind of interested in both, actually. These guys supposedly like Wade, they need to see that he got kicked to the curb because of their ineptitude, then, where possible, some of these guys should be shown the bench to make sure they get the message.

Nice post, agree with much of it except for Bradie needing to go. He's no Ray Ray but he is solid.

Just want to get this off my chest; That 4th & 1 where MBIII was hit by pretty much the entire right side of the DL as he took the hand off is the maddest I've been at the Cowboy's OL in a long time.
No words for how that makes me feel as a fan.

As he was challenging the play I was saying, Ya can't be THIS dumb.

I mean, what on earth was he thinking?

On occasion, ya see stuff that really shows you how clueless this coaching staff is.

That was our boy Jason Witten, who is quite possibly, having the worst year of his life.

Did you catch in Wade's post game interview where he decided to challenge based on either Scandrick or Sens. (forgot which one) instead of listening to the guys upstairs who said not to challenge?:bang2:

Bigg and Colombo can go.

Interim coach - matters. Gotta get them working on fundamentals NOW. Repetition is key. I would rather start now instead of next offseason/preseason.

Ware and Miles - Gold. Anyone who says different is just angry and irrational.

Dez - He may be the future HEART of this team. Absolute beast and only spot for me.

Martellus - I love this guy but I am on the fence with him.

McCann - Showed heart and will. Those "little" intangibles are big now. Like getting crackers when you want steak. Its something.

On Wade - its not about hindsight being 20/20. It was clear when he was hired it was a mistake. I saw "bad" written all over it. I did expect "humiliating", "embarrassing" and other bonuses.

It is simple. Get a real staff and close the doors. Dont worry about where training camp and "stuff" will be. Forgo a little money for hunger. Get the spotlight off the Dallas Cowboys.

The only real spotlight that matters is the one that shines off the Lombardi trophy when it is hoisted in the air......... by Dez Bryant.

dbair, I agree with almost everything you said. The only thing I disagree with is about Davis and Columbo. They have played like trash, however I think this team is in a downward spiral because of Jerry's refusal to address Wade's pitiful performance. Some players need to be motivated and be held accountable for what they do. Wade does not do either of these things. Because Wade has been so bad, I think they should get a mulligan based on past performance. If we get a real head coach, things will improve!!
