The Cowboys' offense has scored only one touchdown a game. The defense gave up 27 points on Sunday. There's one sure-fire way to help them both.

The team has to start winning field position battles, as it did for much of last season. Last year the Cowboys were second in the NFL in opponents' average starting position (22.8-yard line), which helped them lead the conference in scoring defense and make more out of an offense that could move the ball but not finish drives.

They need to get back to that.

Point of order....point of order. Tell the rest of the Dallas area media to put their headwear back on when outside, and a real discussion might finally begin. Now that this article brings up the complications that necessiated 'Red' Garrett calling for more passing abased attempts...and the 'other' media sources have set about crucifying, Jerry, Wade, Jason, and in true 'Monday Morning' style - Tony Romo. After all the naysayers have proven beyond a shadow of doubt all the frailties and need for change...for the THIRD CONSECUTIVE year of fan based defiance. Sure, now talk about the real causes for those reasons and make it a deal of dealing with the truths...yea right. :lmao:

As a fan listening in upon the Dallas/Ft Worth media head trusts, it becomes evident that one is expected to first eat ****, and then die. In that order.... As a soldier has to take to his heart when coming up in the ranks.

Thanks for the article, it deals with the facts of situations. Not an overview pushed by sensationalism and slander.

As to rumor, anyone else heard that Cowher was in Dallas talking with the Cowboys?

If your moving the ball to the red-zone, but can't score drives, scoring has little to do with the fact where you start the drive.

And once again, they had red-zone problems last year...

So when Dallas started at the 1 against the Commanders, they would have scored had they started at the 50.

Quick guys, dont tell the other teams that special teams could make a difference, they will all jump on the bandwagon.

Hey, why doesnt someone write dallas and tell them you can fix their problem, they just need to score more touchdowns, its real simple!!!!

but Bennett was supposed to be a target in the redzone that's why we drafted him..... this team is sooo much fail. Keep rewarding mediocrity jerry.

But it does affect scoring against you. I tend to agree with you on your post. I think it's more about penalties and poor exection, as opposed to anything else. However, I do believe that the most effective personnel move that we could do today is to get a kicker in here that can actually make kicks and just allow Beuhler to do kick offs and break up wedges.

Seriously, that's not what the team wanted but at this point, it's what we got so we better make a decision on how best to take advantage of scoring opportunities and deal with the rest in the off season. We are at a point where we can't afford to screw up the easy stuff.

More touchbacks please.

The field goal kicker's pressures does seem to be affecting the play of the kickoff specialist, agreed. :starspin
