Last season two of the Cowboys' three biggest free agent signings had prior experience under Wade Phillips - Keith Brooking in Atlanta and Igor Olshansky in San Diego. Even linebacker Matt Stewart earned a trip to camp after having worked with Phillips in Atlanta.

The third biggest defensive addition, safety Gerald Sensabaugh, had ties to the staff from the Jacksonville days of Dave Campo and Joe DeCamillis.

There's no way to know for sure, but if we're wondering what unrestricted free agents the Cowboys might consider when the signing period starts Friday, players who have worked under Phillips or other Cowboys coaches might be a good place to start.

The market is unusually dry this year because uncapped year rules necessitate six seasons of NFL service before a player hits unrestricted free agency, but there are a few guys out there who have spent some time with Phillips before, including some ex-Cowboys like Anthony Henry, Nate Jones, Jason Ferguson.

There aren't many real standout guys, but the Cowboys might be able to find room for a special teams standout like San Diego's Kassim Osgood, or a role player like ex-Falcons fullback Justin Griffith.

Any Wade Guys on this list make sense to you?

Jamal Williams may get cut in San Diego. If healthy, he would be worth looking at.

Justin griffith is way better than cricket on madden.

I actually trade anderson for griffith, then rename griffith cricket when I play. That way I don't feel as guilty about it.

Griffith might be worth a look since our FB has a pending legal problem.

The Cowboys like to put as many TEs as possible on the field, and ith What Phillips showed, he's a good candidate to play that H-Back role. So Dallas really does not have needs at FB.
