DC.COM Blog: Buehler Misses Practice With Toe Injury

Rookie kicker David Buehler was not dressed out for practice on Wednesday because of a toe injury on his kicking foot.

While there is a chance he could return for Sunday’s game against the Commanders, kicker Nick Folk said he will increase his kickoff reps this week.

Folk, who handled the kickoff duties the last two years, said he takes a few reps each week, but will certainly do more this week with Buehler’s status up in the air.


Buehler apparently injured the small toe on his right foot last week in Green Bay while covering a punt.


Other players to miss practice Wednesday were safety Ken Hamlin and tackle Marc Colombo, and return specialist Allen Rossum.

Rookie kicker David Buehler is not practicing today because of a right pinky toe injury suffered against Green Bay.

Buehler was limping noticeably during the portion of practice that was open to the media.

If he cannot kickoff then Nick Folk would handle the job. He said he has been kicking off in practice all season but he did not have a touchback last year when handling the job.

Safety Ken Hamlin (ankle) and returner Allen Rossum are not practicing. Hamlin is in a walking boot and could miss a month.

Well, if Beuhler doesn't dress for the game, it will allow the "An extra kicker takes away from our active day roster flexibility" critics to question which player would best take his place. I doubt that there will be a consensus.
